Minutes, Lexington Arts Council <br />Cary Library Meeting Room <br />March 14, 2011 <br />Present: Zoe Perry -Wood, Chris Kyle, Reggie Gibson, Jonathan Cue, Marilyn Kolb, <br />Jan Goplerud, Jackie Hawkinson <br />Meeting called to order at 7:25 pm. The secretary was not present and minutes for <br />the previous meeting were not reviewed /voted upon. <br />Treasurer reports that 2 disbursements were made regarding grant awards. Still <br />waiting for 4 requests for reimbursement, deadline March 1 Sth. Marilyn will contact <br />these recipients. Two programs did not run and therefore not reimbursed. <br />Treasurer's report approved. <br />Discussion of where to re- locate the sculpture by David Filipowski. We have been <br />requested to advise on this matter. Previously in an outside courtyard at the old <br />Library. It needs to be in an inaccessible spot due to the fact it has sharp <br />protrusions. Jackie will speak to a sculptor of large pieces who might be able to <br />advise on this matter. <br />We discussed how to build up the Dimmock Award fund. <br />We are not sure who is our Selectman liason is. Zoe will clarify. <br />Jan Gopelrud reported on web pages of nearby towns and cities who have an Arts <br />Council with an independent website <br />We discussed how to make contact with additional Lexington artists for their <br />inclusion on our future website. <br />Jan will work with others (meeting planned) on content for the "tabs" for our <br />website. <br />Discussion of whether the reception for artists involved in this year's Open Studios <br />can be combined with an invitation to our award recipients. (Maylgth, ALOFT) <br />
