<br /> <br />Lexington Housing Partnership <br />Meeting Minutes for April 28, 2011 <br /> <br />Attendees: <br /> <br />Bob Bicknell, Florence Baturin, Harriet Cohen, Mary Haskell, Chris Kluchman, Wendy Manz, <br />Winifred McGowan, Bob Pressman, Melinda Walker, Betsey Weiss <br /> <br />Chris Kluchman chaired the meeting; Harriet Cohen took the minutes. The meeting was called to order at <br />7:45 pm. <br /> <br />1. Busa Property Update <br />The Lexington Housing Partnership heard two reports with respect to the Busa Property. <br /> The first report described the meeting between Betsey Weiss and Bob Pressman with Hank <br /> <br />Manz re the Busa property. Ms. Weiss and Mr. Pressman expressed their concerns about <br />the recommendation from the Busa Land Use Proposal Committee (BLUPC) to provide <br />space for only up to four affordable housing units. Mr. Manz indicated that he also had <br />some questions about the recommendation and took the concern under advisement. Ms. <br />Weiss and Mr. Pressman represented themselves in the discussion with Mr. Manz. <br /> Representing the Lexington Housing Partnership, Mr. Bicknell and Mr. Kreutziger met <br /> <br />with Mr. Manz and Deb Maugher. Mr. Kreutziger had prepared extensive materials <br />showing an alternative layout for the Busa property in which 1.5 acres on the north side of <br />the property is allocated for affordable. Again, this information was taken under <br />advisement. The Lexington Housing Partnership recognizes the effort that Mr. Kreutziger <br />expended and the fine work that he has done in creating the detailed studies behind the <br />recommendation. <br />Action <br />: Mary Haskell and Melinda Walker will work together to write an Op-Ed or letter to the <br />Lexington Minuteman supporting additional affordable housing units beyond the BLUPC <br />recommendation. The goal is to publish prior to Memorial Day. They will represent themselves in <br />writing the Op-Ed or letter. <br /> <br />2. Vine Street Update <br />The Vine Street Committee has been working diligently towards a recommendation on affordable <br />housing at Vine Street. The goal is to have 4 to 6 units of affordable housing. The development of <br />design ideas is in progress. The committee has met several times with the neighbors to hear their <br />goals for the land usage and to get their feedback on housing designs, and will meet at least one <br />additional time with the neighbors to get their comments on the latest version of the design. <br />LexHab will serve as the organizer for the development. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 8:45 pm for a Lexington Housing Foundation meeting. The Lexington Housing <br />Partnership meeting reconvened at 8:55 pm. <br /> <br />3. Lexington Housing Partnership Goals <br />The LHP Goals Subcommittee met to draft a set of goals. Florence Barturin captured the goals and <br />emailed them to the Lexington Housing Partnership. The Partnership discussed alternative <br />formulations of the goals, additional strategies, and actions/timings for those actions. <br /> <br />
