LEARY PROPERTY COMMUNITY HOUSING TASK FORCE
Room G -15, Town Office Building
Meeting Minutes of February 16, 2011
Present: Bob Bicknell, Stephen Keane, Wendy Manz, Lester Savage, and Betsey Weiss.
Bill Hays attended in Mr. Kennedy's stead.
Staff: Aaron Henry and Maryann McCall - Taylor
Absent: George Burnell, Bill Kennedy, and Deb Mauger
Minutes
The task Force approved the minutes of the January 19 meeting (as edited).
As there was not a quorum present at the February 9 meeting, there were no minutes to
approve. Notes from the presentation by Transformations, Inc, were presented to the
group, and will be posted to the website.
Proposed Development Program Discussion
The group's discussion of the development program was largely a conversation about the
immediate next steps in the process. It was decided that issuing the Request for Interest, or
RFI, should occur only with the assent of the Board of Selectmen. This request should also
be accompanied by an update of some sort. This would then be followed by the second
community meeting, tentatively set for March 17.
A lot of time was spent on the exact wording found in the RFI regarding the number of units.
It was unanimously determined that the RFI shall use the phrase "6 to 8 units," to describe
the carrying capacity of the site.
Action Items
1. Staff to email the Task Force its pro forma;
2. Request an agenda item on an upcoming Selectmen's' meeting to provide them a
status report and to request permission to issue the RFI; and
3. Begin preparations for the second community meeting.
Future Meetings
The next Task Force meetings are tentatively scheduled for:
• February 23 - Presentation by the Oxbow developer; and
• March 17 - Community Meeting, location TBD
