58 ADJOURNED TOWN MEETING <br /> March 15, 1943 <br /> tv <br /> The Town Meeting was called to order at 8:08 P.M. by the Mod- <br /> erator, Robert H. Holt. <br /> There were 158 Town Meeting Members present. <br /> The Town Clerk, James J. Carroll, read the warrant for the <br /> meeting until further reading was waived upon motion of Selectman, <br /> George C . Sheldon, 8:09 P.M. <br /> The Constable 's Return was read by the Town Clerk, 8:09 P.M. <br /> Unless otherwise noted, all articles were presented by Sel- <br /> ectman, A. Edward Rowse , <br /> Article 2. The Appropriation Committee report presented by <br /> Richard T. Maynard, Vice Chairman. Motion made and seconded that <br /> Appropriation Committee report be accepted and placed on file . 8: 12 P.M. <br /> Report of Advanced Program and Budgeting Committee presented by <br /> Donald E . Nickerson, 8:15 P.E. <br /> The following vote presented by William R. Greeley: <br /> VOTED: That the Moderator be authorized to appoint a committee <br /> of five to continue the work of the present advanced Program- <br /> ming and Budgeting Committee, <br /> Carried Unanimously 8:16 P.M. <br /> Article 2, VOTED: That a committee of three be appointed by <br /> the Moderator to have charge of the lectures under <br /> the wills of Eliza Cary Farnham and Susanna E. <br /> Cary for the current year. <br /> Carried Unanimously 8:16 P.M. <br /> VOTED: That a committee be appointed by the Mod- <br /> erator consisting of the Chairman of the Board of <br /> Selectmen, the new Chairman of the Appropriation <br /> 'Committee, the Chairman of the Planning Board, to- <br /> gether with two citizens with business experience, <br /> to study the set-up of various Town departments in <br /> the interest of efficiency and economy and make <br /> recommendations to the next Annual Town Meeting, <br /> Carried Unanimously 8: 18 P.M. <br /> The following motion presented by Pauline A. Mayo: <br /> I move that it be the sence of this meeting that the School <br /> Department serve hot lunches for school children in the three schools <br /> where lunches are now being served, namely: Adams, Franklin, and <br /> Parker Schools and that this lunch program be operated on a pay-as- <br /> you-go basis'. <br /> Carried Unanimously 8:25 P.M. <br /> Article 3, VOMD: That the Town Treasurer, with the approval <br /> of the Selectmen, be and hereby is authorized to <br /> borrow money from time to time in anticipation of <br /> the revenue of the financial year beingging January <br /> 1, 1944, and to issue a note or notes therefor, pay- <br /> able within one year and to renew any note or notes <br /> that may be given for a period of less than one year <br /> in accordance with Section 17, Chapter 44, General <br /> Laws, <br /> Carried Unanimously 8: 25 P.M. <br /> Article 4, VOTED: That the following amounts be apropriated and <br /> assessed for the current year. <br /> There were no objections from the Town Meeting Members as to <br /> the amounts being voted groups . <br />
