M. - <br /> There were 172 Town Meeting Members present. <br /> Invocation offered by Monsignor George W. Casey. 8:07 P. M. <br /> Town Clerk, Janes J. Carroll, read the warrant for the meeting <br /> until further reading was waived by the Moderator. 8:08 P. M. <br /> Town Clerk, James J. Carroll, read the Constable' s Return for <br /> the meeting. 8:08 P. M. - <br /> Article 1. Logan Clarke , Jr. moves that the Appropriation <br /> Committee Report be accepted and placed on file. <br /> Carried Unanimously 8:08 P. M. <br /> Article 2. Presented by Alan G. Adams. <br /> VOTED: That, in connection with the proposal of the <br /> Commonwealth of Massachusetts, through its Department of <br /> Public Works, to dredge and widen Kiln Brook in the Town <br /> of Lexington from the northeasterly side of Route128 for <br /> a distance of approximately 4,500 feet to the Lexington- <br /> Bedford town line, the Selectmen be and hereby are auth- <br /> orized in the name and on behalf of the Town to enter into <br /> a contract with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, rep- <br /> resented by its Department of Public Works, for the pay- <br /> ment by the Town of one-half of the actual cost of said <br /> work and of necessary engineering therefor and to execute <br /> and deliver a bond of indemnity agreeing to indemnify and <br /> save harmless the Commonwealth and its representatives and <br /> agents against all claims and demands for damages that <br /> may be sustained by any person whose land or any rights <br /> or interest therein is taken for or is injured by said <br /> work, and to purchase, take by eminent domain or otherwise <br /> acquire any fee, easement or other interest in land <br /> necessary for said work; and that the sum of $30,000.00 be <br /> appropriated therefor and payment provided by the _transfer <br /> of $20,000.00 from the unexpended balance of the approp- <br /> riation voted for acquisition of land abutting the Great <br /> Meadows under Article 45 of the warrant for the 1958 <br /> Annual Town Meeting and by raising the balance of <br /> $10,000.00 in the current tax levy. <br /> Carried Unanimously 8:13 P.
