M. <br /> Invocation offered by Rev. Homer A. Doak. 8:03 P. M. <br /> There were 168 Town Meeting Members present. <br /> Town Clerk, James J. Carroll, read the warrant for the meeting <br /> until further reading was waived. 8:04 P. M. <br /> Town Clerk, James J. Carroll, read the Constable' s Return of <br /> the warrant for the meeting. 8:04 P. M. <br /> Article 1. The Appropriation Committee Report was presented by <br /> J. Harper Blaisdell which was voted to be accepted and <br /> placed on file. 8:04 P. M. <br /> Lincoln P. Cole, Jr. presents report of the School Street <br /> School Building Committee which was voted to be accepted, <br /> placed on file and the committee discharged. 8:05 P. M. <br /> Article 2. VOTED: That for the purpose of establishing an off- <br /> street parking area and access thereto, the Selectmen be <br /> Presented and hereby are authorized on behalf of the Town to <br /> by acquire by purchase, by eminent domain or otherwise, or <br /> Ruth by lease, a parcel of land containing about 23,200 <br /> Morey, square feet abutting upon the land situated on Meriam <br /> Chairman, Street which the Selectmen were authorized to acquire <br /> Board for such purpose by the vote adopted under Article 48 <br /> of of the Warrant for the 1960 Annual Town Meeting, such <br /> Selectmen additional parcel being shown on plan entitled aLand <br /> In Lexington, Mass. Boston and Maine_Railroad To The <br /> Town Of Lexington", dated July 1960, J. F. Kerwin <br /> Assistant Chief Engineer, a copy of which is on file in <br /> the office of. the Town Clerk, and also to acquire a <br /> right of way to provide access to said parcel from Depot <br /> Square; and to appropriate the -stun, of $22,700.00, which <br /> sum is to be used, in conjunction with and in <br /> J addition <br /> to the $25,000.00 appropriated in the vote adopted under <br /> said Article 48, for the acquisition of the land <br /> described in said vote and the additional land and <br /> interest in land herein described, and to provide for <br /> payment by transfer from the Excess and Deficiency <br /> Account. <br /> Levi G. Burnell states that Planning Board is unanimously <br /> in favor of this article. -8:14 P. M. " <br /> Amendment offered by Gardner C. Ferguson as follows: <br /> "Mr. Moderator, I move to amend the motion by striking <br /> it out and substituting in place thereof the following: <br /> That for the purpose of establishing an off-street <br /> parking area and access thereto, the Selectmen be and <br /> hereby are authorized on behalf of the Town to acquire by <br /> purchase, by eminent domain or otherwise, or by lease, a <br /> parcel of land containing about 23,200 square feet abutting <br /> upon the land situated on Meriam Street which the Sel- <br /> ectmen were authorized to acquire for such purpose by the <br /> vote adopted under Article8 <br /> 4 of the Warrant for the 1960 <br /> Annual Town Meeting, such additional parcel being shown <br /> on plan entitled""Land In Lexington, Mass. Boston and <br /> Maine Railroad To The Town Of Lexington", dated July 1960, <br /> J. F.
