<br />Lexington Council for the Arts (LCA) <br />Minutes for Meeting April 12, 2010 <br />Cary Memorial Library <br /> <br /> <br />Present: Perry-Wood, Chair; Victoria Campos, Recording Secretary; Sirarpi Heghinian Walzser; <br />Jan Goplerud; Marilyn Kolb, Treasurer; Chris Kyle <br />Absent: Jonathan Cue; Jackie Hawkinson <br /> <br />Call to Order: <br /> <br /> Zoe Perry Wood called the meeting to order at 7:05PM. <br /> <br />Secretary's Report <br /> <br /> The minutes for the March ‘09 meeting were unavailable and to be accepted at the next <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Treasurer's Report <br /> <br /> Marilyn Kolb’s Treasure’s report was accepted. We have a balance of $7877 in our account. <br />5K is dedicated to the library project. 2175$ available to us. $200 in interest earnings. $1855 in <br />Patron’s Fund. <br /> <br />Topics discussed tonight: <br /> <br />New members to be sought by the fall. ZPW offered for discussion “Guidelines for Civil <br /> <br />Discourse” to guide us in future interactions. Disc. re how to manage listening. <br />Criticism of Munroe Center for the Arts in recent press, and in particular, 2009 “Open <br /> <br />Studios.” As a major funder of MCA’s Open Studios in ’09 and 10, we moved to write a <br />letter of support for Open Studios and possibly tie in the other organizations and <br />individuals we funded. Sirarpi abstained, and her name should not appear on the letter. <br />Decided to postpone our participation in Discovery Day until next year. <br /> <br />Need for a sub-committee to oversee the development of our website plans, set up a <br /> <br />timeline, write up an RFP. The Website Sub-committee: Chris, Jan, Zoe, Jackie. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Business for Next Meeting <br /> <br />Website report <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Adjournment The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 PM. The next meeting will be May 10, <br />2010 at 7:00 PM in Cary Memorial Library.
