<br /> <br />Lexington 300 Anniversary Celebration Committee <br />th <br /> <br /> <br />Meeting Minutes <br />October 7, 2009 <br /> <br />Attending: Lexington 300 - Susan Rockwell, Richard Kollen, Donna Hooper <br />th <br /> <br />Meeting of Lexington 300 Anniversary Celebration Committee was held in conjunction <br />th <br />with the Town Celebrations Committee as an Information Session to review Patriots’ <br />Day Events and the Lexington 300 Anniversary. Meeting was held at Cary Hall, Cary <br />th <br />Memorial Building, 1605 Massachusetts Avenue. <br /> <br />Representatives from the Town Celebrations Committee and various supporting and <br />participating organizations for Lexington’s celebrations were in attendance. <br /> <br />Sue Rockwell and Dick Kollen provided an overview and some thoughts of the 300 <br />th <br />committee. <br /> <br />Participants expressed great interest in participating in the celebration of the 300 <br />th <br />anniversary of Lexington’s incorporation and offered many ideas for possible <br />opportunities, including: <br /> <br /> <br /> September 2012 – 10 Anniversary of William Diamond Fife & Drum - Carmen <br />th <br /> Fife & Drum Tatoo <br /> <br /> Colonial Ball – Beverly Kelley – Weekend of March 30 <br />th <br /> <br /> Group Photo on Battle Green – Peter Kelley <br /> <br /> March 30/31 – Good timing for an LHS music production – Jeff Leonard <br /> <br /> 2012 – 10 Anniversary of Liberty Ride – special for residents – Dawn McKenna <br />th <br /> Events to get to know the businesses, not solely retail; Greater Merrimack <br />o <br />Visitor’s Bureau – potential funding$$$ <br /> Corporate Sponsorships <br />o <br /> <br /> Lexington Bicentennial Band involvement– Jeff Leonard <br /> <br /> Lexington Symphony – season opener in September – fashion program to fit into the <br />celebration <br /> <br /> Neighborhood shopping ideas – Margaret Heitz <br /> <br /> $17.13 or $20.13 meals? – Suzie Barry <br /> <br /> Landmark or gift to Town for 300 – Doug Lucente <br />th <br /> <br /> ‘Town Ball’ – East Lexington Zepher team – Hank Manz <br /> <br /> Homecoming? <br /> <br /> Time capsule <br /> <br /> Invitation to other ‘Lexington’ towns <br /> <br />Entities to consider involving include: <br />DAR 10 Regiment <br />th <br />Symphony Lexington Minutemen <br />Lions Club Lexington Minuteman Newspaper <br />Diamond Fife & Drum Liberty Ride <br />Lexington High School Band Tourism <br />Minuteman Cane Award Committee <br />Jeff Leonard – Discovery Day performers on Patriots’ Day – singers.
