<br /> <br />th <br />Lexington 300 Anniversary Celebration Committee <br /> <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 17, 2010 <br /> <br />Attending: Susan Rockwell, Donna Hooper, Richard Kollen <br />Absent: Cindy Savage <br /> <br />The Lexington 300 Anniversary Celebration Committee met at 10:30 a.m., Monday, <br />th <br />May 17, 2010 in Room 111, Town Office Building., 1625 Massachusetts Ave. <br /> <br />Points Discussed: <br />Suzie Barry, Chair, Town Celebrations Committee updated the Committee on the status <br />of the participation in the 300 Anniversary celebration by the following: <br />th <br /> <br />YES - <br />Jessie Steigerwald – schools <br />TENTATIVE - <br />Van Seasholes, Denise Dube, Alan Wrigley <br />NO - <br />Jerry Michelson <br /> <br />Lexington 300 Anniversary Celebration Incorporation <br />: Donna Hooper confirmed <br />th <br />Alan Wrigley has agreed to handle filing to obtain 501 [c] [3] private non-profit status. <br /> <br />Suggested Officers: <br />President: Susan Rockwell <br />Vice President: Richard Kollen <br />Treasurer: Alan Wrigley [?] <br />Clerk: Donna Hooper <br /> <br />Web Site: <br /> Donna Hooper confirmed Lexington 300URL is www.Lexington300.us <br />th <br />The website can be set up within the structure of the Town’s current web site. <br /> <br />Logo: <br />Sue Rockwell will work with Susan Bennett [Lexington Historical Society] and <br />Jean Hart, Interim Executive Director at the Lexington Arts & Crafts Society to identify <br />options for developing a 300 Anniversary Celebration Logo. <br />th <br /> <br />Fundraising: <br />What is total amount of funding needed? <br />How much did the bicentennial celebration of 1975 cost? <br />What was cost of Last Nite 2000? <br />It is rumored that Concord is spending $60,000; Needham 300 in 2011 is anticipating <br />th <br />a cost of $500,000; <br />Possible individuals who might lead the initiative - Dawn McKenna, Kerry Brandin – <br />Cindy Savage to pursue. <br /> <br />Community Organization Letter: <br />Outreach to organizations to inquire how and in <br />what way they may participate, followed with a Fall 2010 meeting to come onboard. <br />Proposed meeting date is September 21, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Donna Hooper will schedule <br />the meeting at best available venue. <br /> <br />Draft letter to community organizations was discussed.
