ANNUAL TOWN MEETING HELD MARCH: 19, 1973 " <br /> The meeting was called to order by the Moderator, Lincoln P. <br /> Cole, Jr. at 8:05 P. M. in Cary Memorial Hall. <br /> There were 194 .Town Meeting Members present. <br /> The invocation was offered by Rev. Harold T. Handley, <br /> Rector of the Church of Our Redeemer. 8:07 P. M. <br /> Town Clerk, Mary R. McDonough, read the warrant for the meeting <br /> :-; until, further reading was waived. 8:08 P. M. <br /> The Town Clerk read the Constable's Return of the warrant. <br /> 8:08 P. M. <br /> Article 2. Edward E. Furash, Chairman of the Appropriation Committee, <br /> moved that the report of the Appropriation Committee be <br /> accepted and placed on file. <br /> 8:09 P. M. <br /> Mr. Furash stated, that if the recommendations of the <br /> Appropriation Committee were followed, the estimated tax <br /> rate would be $69.95. <br /> 8:12 P. M. <br /> Motion, as offered by Mr. Furash, carried unanimously. <br /> 8:12 P. M. <br /> George S. Silverman, Chairman of the Capital Expenditures <br /> Committee, moved that the report of the Capital Expendi- <br /> tures Committee be accepted and placed on file. <br /> Carried Unanimously 8:13 P. M. <br /> Stephen Michael Politi moved that the report of the <br /> Committee on Cary Lectures be accepted and placed on <br /> file and the Committee discharged. <br /> Carried Unanimously 8:13 'P. M. <br /> Iris G. Wheaton moved that the report of the Regional <br /> Refuse Disposal Planning Committee for the Year 1972 be <br /> accepted andplaced on file. <br /> Carried Unanimously 8:13 P. M. <br /> Allan F. Kenney moved that the Status Report on 1972 <br /> Articles by the Town Manager be accepted and placed on <br /> file. 8:15 P. M. <br /> Frank Sandy moved that the motion to accept the Status <br /> Report be tabled. 8:16 P. M. <br /> The Moderator stated that the motion is only to accept <br /> the report, not to approve it. 8:16 P. M. <br /> Mr. Sandy's motion to table declared lost by voice vote. <br /> 8:16 P. M. <br /> Motion, as offered by Mr. Kenney , declared carried by <br /> voice vote. 8:17 P. M. <br /> Article 3. Presented by Allan F. Kenney. <br /> MOTION: That a committee of three be appointed by the <br /> Moderator to have charge of the lectures under the wills <br /> of Eliza Cary Farnham and Suzanna E. Cary for the current <br /> year. <br /> Carried Unanimously 8:17 P. M. <br />
