<br />Lexington Board of Health Meeting, October 7, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. <br />Town Office Bldg., Room G-15 <br />1625 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, MA <br /> <br />Attendees: Wendy Heiger-Bernays, Chair; Burt Perlmutter; Sharon MacKenzie; Deborah <br />Thompson <br /> <br />Health Department Attendees: Gerard F. Cody, Health Director; Ann Belliveau, Health <br />Clerk <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The Board reviewed the minutes of September 16, 2009. Perlmutter motioned to accept <br />the minutes as written. MacKenzie seconded. All approved. <br /> <br />The Board reviewed the Community Health Report. Cody updated the Board concerning <br />an upcoming seasonal flu clinic scheduled for October 16, 2009 at Cary Hall to replicate <br />an EDS drill. Cody also advised the Board that “Flu Care at Home” would be presented <br />at Cary Hall on October 22, 2009, and it would be open to the public. <br /> <br /> <br />Environmental Health Report <br /> <br />Dabin Update – Cody updated the Board that during recent inspection, there were several <br />violations of the food code. As a result, Dabin’s have contracted food consultant, <br />Maureen Lee to work with them. Lee conducted an inspection on October 5, 2009 and <br />submitted a copy of the inspection report for the Boards review. Lee will be scheduling <br />additional training, cleaning schedules, Sushi preparation in accordance with HCAPP <br />plan. It was determined that Dabin’s will appear at the next Board of Health meeting in <br />November. <br /> <br />New Establishment/Plan Review – Mass Avenue Deli <br />Michael Richards, owner of the Mass Avenue Deli came before the Board of Health as a <br />new food establishment in Lexington. After a brief discussion, the Board granted <br />permission to Mr. Richards to operate a food establishment in Lexington. <br /> <br />Housing Code Compliance Program Update <br /> <br />32 Fairbanks Update – Cody advised the Board of his recent inspection at 32 Fairbanks <br />which included the Building Inspector, Peter Curro. It appeared all plumbing and heating <br />fixtures were in order. The basement still has a sewer odor probably coming from the <br />cardboard or the wood which needs to be worked on. Cody mentioned that the building <br />permit has not been issued because the contractor’s HIC license had expired. Cody does <br />want to see the basement gutted out properly. Servpro will continue with the cleanup <br />once the demolition has taken place. Cody mentioned to Mr. Reutter that he would like <br />to inspect the rest of the home. Mr. Reutter would like to wait until the work has been <br /> <br />
