<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Lexington Board of Health Meeting, November 18, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. <br />Town Office Bldg., Room G-15 <br />1625 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, MA <br /> <br />Attendees: Wendy Heiger-Bernays, Chair; Burt Perlmutter; Sharon MacKenzie; Deborah <br />Thompson <br /> <br />Health Department Attendees: Gerard F. Cody, Health Director; Ann Belliveau, Health <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Heiger-Bernays called to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The Board reviewed the minutes of October 7, 2009. Perlmutter motioned to accept the <br />minutes with corrections. MacKenzie seconded. All approved. <br /> <br />The Board reviewed the Community Health Report. <br /> <br />Environmental Health Report <br /> <br />Dabin Update – Cody advised the Board that as a result of a recent inspection, Dabins <br />was issued an order to correct and there were several deficiencies with the food code <br />including but not limited to the HACCP plan for Sushi was not being followed. Maureen <br />Lee was hired by Dabins as a result of the Board’s decision that Dabins hire a food <br />consultant. Lee updated the Board of the steps being taken for Dabins to be in <br />compliance with the food code. The hearing will be continued at the December meeting. <br /> <br />Khushboo Hearing – Cody advised the Board that during a routine food inspection on <br />June 10, 2009, 10 critical and 21 non-critical violations were found. An order to correct <br />was issued and on June 30, 2009 all violations were corrected. On November 7, 2009, an <br />inspection took place at Khushboo by Stephanie Scogland and there were 8 critical and <br />10 non-critical violations of the food code. Many of the violations were repeat violations. <br />In reviewing the Khushboo file, Cody discovered a pattern of repeat violations. After a <br />discussion, Perlmutter motioned that due to the number and type of violations that have <br />been observed during the last two food inspections, it is the opinion of this Board that a <br />food consultant has been listed with the Department of Public Health Food Protection <br />Program as an approved trainer be hired by Khushboo to review your compliance history <br />with the Board of Health and create an action plan to keep you in compliance with the <br />Food Code. Mr. Cody, Health Director for the Lexington Health Division will provide <br />you with further details on the scope and objectives of this food consultant. You are <br />required to attend the December 9, 2009, Board of Health meeting to provide an update <br />with your progress with this matter. MacKenzie seconded. All approved. <br /> <br />Wilson Farms Hearing – Cody advised the Board that during a routine food inspection at <br />Wilson Farm by Stephanie Scogland, Food Consultant and Kathy Fox, Health Agent, 10 <br />critical and 27 non-critical food code violations were found. On September 22, 2009, the <br />Health Division received a letter from Mr. Scott Wilson of Wilson Farm, Inc., describing <br />a list or work in progress. On October 14, 2009, at an unannounced food re-inspection, 7 <br />critical and 9 non-critical food code violations were documented on site which included <br /> <br />
