ANNUAL TOWN MEETING - MARCH 17, 1975 <br /> The meeting was called to order in Cary Memorial Hall st 8 :02 P. M. by the <br /> Moderator, Lincoln P. Cole, Jr. <br /> There were 191 Town Meeting Members present. <br /> The invocation was offered by Rev. Harold T. Handley, Rector Emeritus of the <br /> Church of Our Redeemer. 8:04 P. M. <br /> The Moderator called for a moment of silence for two long time town meeting <br /> members who had passed away in the past two weeks - Alan G. Adams and Jack L. <br /> Mitchell. 8:05 P. M. <br /> stated <br /> The Moderator /that the town meeting would be taped for historical purposes <br /> and the repository would be the Cary Memorial Library. 8:05 P. M. <br /> Town Clerk, Mary R. McDonough, read the warrant for the meeting until further <br /> reading was waived. 8:07 P. M. <br /> The Constable's Return of the Warrant was read by the Town Clerk. <br /> 8:07 P. M. <br /> Article 2. Edward E. Furash, Chairman of the Appropriation Committee, moved <br /> that the report of the Appropriation Commmittee be accepted and <br /> placed on file. 8:08 P. M. <br /> Mr. Furash stated, that if the recommendations of his committee were <br /> followed, at this time it would appear that the tax rate would be <br /> between $74.00 and $76.00. He also stated, that because of the <br /> collective bargaining negotiations not completed at this time, that <br /> Articles 4 and 5 would not be presented at this or Wednesday's <br /> meeting but a motion would be offered that these two articles be <br /> tabled. 8:17 P. M. <br /> Mr. Furash's motion to accept and file the report of the Appropriation <br /> Committee was carried unanimously. 8:17 P. M. <br /> George S. Silverman, Chairman of the Capital Expenditures Committee, <br /> moved that the report of the Capital Expenditures Committee be <br /> accepted and placed on file. <br /> Carried Unanimously 8 :19 P. M. <br /> Joseph A. Campbell, Chairman of the Noise Pollution Study Committee, <br /> moved that the report of the Noise Pollution Study Committee be <br /> accepted, placed on file and the committee discharged. <br /> Carried Unanimously 8:21 P. M. <br /> Article 3. Presented by Allan F. Kenney. <br /> MOTION: That a committee of three be appointed by the Moderator to <br /> have the charge of the lectures under the wills of Eliza Cary Farnham <br /> and Suzanna E. Cary for the current year. <br /> Carried Unanimously 8:21 P. M. <br /> Article 4. Allan F. Kenney moved that Article 4 be tabled. <br /> Carried Unanimously 8:21 P. M. <br /> (See Pages 58 -65 inc.) <br /> Article 5. Allan F. Kenney moved that Article 5 be tabled. <br /> Carried Unanimously 8:21 P. M. <br /> (See Pages 64 & 65.) <br /> Article 6. Presented by Allan F. Kenney. <br /> MOTION: That this article be indefinitely postponed. <br /> Carried Unanimously 8:22 P. M. <br />
