<br />Lexington Council for the Arts <br />Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Monday, February 10, 2020 <br />7:00 - 8:45pm <br />Lexington Community Center, Marrett Road, Lexington, MA Room 232 (Please <br />check at front desk to confirm meeting room) <br /> <br />Pre-Meeting Tasks <br />Review of handouts & minutes <br />Attendance: <br />Present: Seetha Ramnath, Shubra Chandra, Steve Poltorzycki <br />Absent: Jillian Tung <br />Guests: <br />Recording Secretary: Steve Poltorzycki <br /> <br /> Meeting start time: 7:05 <br /> <br />• WELCOME - Chairperson (Seetha Ramnath) <br />• Introduction – this month’s mail <br />• Recruiting : Shubra Chandra will arrange for a posting on school newsletters to solicit <br />applications from parents, etc.; Steve Poltorzycki’s role on this Council and the Munroe <br />Center for the Arts was deemed not a conflict by the Select Board <br />• Strategic plan – awaiting confirmation on funding for 2021 <br /> <br />• NEW BUSINESS <br />• Grants reimbursements received four local grant request confirmations. Listed in the <br />Grants tracking spreadsheet for reference. <br />• LexArts and other community organizations will be asked to come to a meeting. <br />• A reception will be planned for grant recipients sometime in June (6/4?) at Aloft <br />• Subra Chandra will look into having a student to help with the Council website (paid or <br />volunteer) <br />• Steve Poltorzycki will ask Cecily Miller (a public art consultant) to a future meeting to <br />discuss the potential for public art projects in Lexington. <br /> <br />• REPORTS (10 minutes) <br />• Secretary’s Report (Steven Poltorzycki) <br />• December meeting’s approved (motion by Shubra Chandra, seconded by Steve <br />Poltorzycki) <br /> <br />• Treasurer’s Report (Shubhra Chandra will present) <br />• Update on State & Local budgets will take place in March <br />• Reimbursements update 2018-19—Shubra Chandra will look into this and report <br />in March <br /> <br />• Communications Report <br />• Website: www.lexartscouncil.org. Update will take place at the March meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />4. 2019-20 OLD BUSINESS <br /> LCA Community survey – Council members were asked to consider which <br />questions/topics to raise in a survey <br /> Breakthrough Artist—on hold for now <br /> African drum circle—Seetha Ramnath will follow up on status of plans for this <br /> <br />5..
