Dear Sir:-
The hearing on the petition of the city of Cambridge
involving the roads in the town of Lexington is assigned for next
Monday forenoon. We would like very much to have the selectmen come
in if possible because it has some effect on the committee if the town
officers are there themselves. There is also a petition of the city
of Waltham coming up Tuesday which asks for an act to authorize the
commissioners on topographical survey to establish the lines
between Waltham and Lexington.
Mr Muzzey was in today to inquire about this but Mr. Smith and
Mr. Ludden were both in court and did not see him. We do not regard
the matter as of any consequence to either Waltham or Lexington as
the proposed bill simply authorizes the commissioners to establish the
lines. This was put in at the request of the city engineer of Waltham
and so far as we know it amounts to nothing. If it should come to the
point where you need assistance or information, you can be sure that we
shall notify you in due season.
