OFFICE OF E. IItVING SMITH,
SMITH & LUDDEN, CHARLES M. LUDDEN.
COUNSELLORS AT LAW. ' one. t
5 PEMBERTON SQUARE,
1>OSTO N, MASS.
Subscribers to Sloan's Legal and -- July- 6.t -------------- -189 5
Financial Register and Mem-
bers of the Continental
Collection Union.
Webster Smith, Esq..,
Lexington, Mass ,
Dear Sir
We inclose th:e opinion which you requested. The case which
we refer to in the opinion is exactly in point and holds that you
still can act under the Public Statutes notwithstanding the special
act j and as it happens'-the special act in the Braintree case was
almost word for word -as the special act in our case. Where being no
possible doubt about the question we have not sent the opinion to mr.
Scott as no lawyer can dispute the konc lusi ons we reach after reading
the case. If you still think we had better send it down to him
we have a copy which we have retained for that purposei but titre think
1 that in view of this you wil1, not think it worth while.
Very t-_rozly yours Q
