BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> Members: Three (3) <br /> Appointed By: Town Manager <br /> (with Board of Selectmen approval) <br /> Appointed: April 30 <br /> Term Length: 3 years <br /> Description: The Board of Health is responsible for promoting public health in <br /> Lexington. It conducts investigations of health and environmental <br /> problems and manages and coordinates health programs and services <br /> within the Town. Major concerns include preventing and controlling <br /> communicable diseases and ensuring that health requirements governing <br /> food service establishments, water supply, sewage disposal, housing <br /> and public swimming areas are met. <br /> Criteria for <br /> Membership: Members should have a strong interest in maintaining a clean and <br /> health environment in Lexington.
