<br /> <br />CARY LECTURE COMMITTEE <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Members: 4 (four) <br />Appointed By: Town Moderator <br />Appointed: July 1 <br />Term Length: 1 year <br />Description: <br />In 1911, two Lexington sisters, Suzanna Cary and Eliza Cary Famham, left <br />money to the Town to establish The Isaac Cary Educational Fund. The Funds <br />two purposes were to 1) provide annual scholarships to Lexington's young <br />people, and 2) to "provide lectures upon such educational and useful subjects <br />as may promise benefit to the community. " The second purpose resulted in <br />the Cary Lecture Series, offering free lectures/events to Lexington residents. <br />Committee members determine which events will be offered each year and <br />assist in planning and implementation. <br /> <br /> <br />Criteria for Membership: None <br /> <br />Reference: Will of Suzanna Cary and Eliza Cary Farnham, 1911 <br /> <br />Last updated: 1994 <br />
