MEETING MINUTES
BOARD OF REGISTRARS
June 26, 2018
The meeting of the Board of Registrars was called to order at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday,
June 26, 2018 in the Reed Room, Town Office Building, 1625 Massachusetts Avenue.
Present: Registrars, Gordon Jones, Chair, Judy Moore, Mark Vitunic and Town Clerk,
Nathalie Rice.
Approval of Minutes:
MOTION: That meeting minutes of the July 5, 2017, March 19, 21 and 22, 2018
meetings be accepted as written.
Motion approved.
Election of Chair:
MOTION: That Gordon Jones be appointed as Chair of the Board of Registrars for
the upcoming 2018-2019 year.
Motion approved. Mr. Jones abstained from the vote.
Approval of Assistant Registrars and Signature Stamp Authorizations:
MOTION: That the following staff of the Town Clerk’s Office be designated as
Assistant Registrars: Dianne Sperber, Lisa Maguire, Kelley Cutone-Clair and Gina
Carme and that use of the Board of Registrar signature stamp with the names of Gordon
M. Jones III, Judy E. Moore, Mark R. Vitunic and Nathalie L. Rice be approved for the
purposes of certification of petitions, nominations, and attestations.
Motion approved.
Review and Recommend 2018-2019 Election Officer Appointments:
MOTION: That the Board review the List of 183 Election Officers for the 2018-2019
year, endorse and forward the list to the Board of Selectmen for appointment.
Motion approved.
Discussion of Upcoming State Primary and November State Election:

Ms. Rice updated the Board on the upcoming September 4 State Election and plans for

the November 6 State Election. She informed the Board that “Poll Pads” would be used
to check in voters during Early Voting for the State Election. There is no internet
connection, she explained; the Poll Pads are simply a tablet on which the voter’s list is
loaded. She reported that the Poll Pads enable a label to be printed for each voter. The
voter’s name can then be scanned into the State database, significantly reducing staff time
in processing early voters.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:53 a.m.
