<br />Page 1 of 6 <br />Selectmen’s Meeting <br />April 1, 2019 <br />A meeting of the Lexington Board of Selectmen was called to order at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, <br />April 1, 2019 in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room of the Town Office Building. Ms. Barry, Chair; <br />Mr. Pato; Mr. Lucente; Ms. Hai and Mr. Sandeen were present as well as Mr. Malloy, Town <br />Manager; Ms. Axtell, Assistant Town Manager and Ms. Katzenback, Executive Clerk. <br />Public Comment <br />Jennifer Melot, 44 Emerson Gardens, expressed concern for the safety of bicyclists in Lexington <br />and suggested protected bicycle lanes are needed along Massachusetts Avenue. <br />Selectmen Concerns and Liaison Reports <br />Ms. Hai said the Annual Minuteman Advisory Group Interlocal Council (MAGIC) Breakfast is <br />scheduled for Friday, May 3, 2019 to be held at the Lexington Community Center. <br />Mr. Pato said he will attend a transportation workshop on Thursday, April 4, 2019 morning at <br />Harvard University. Also on April 4, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. is the Lexington Next, Comprehensive <br />Plan Update session at which the trends of how Lexington commutes, rides walks and bikes will <br />be discussed. <br />Ms. Barry said a member of the Board is needed to serve on the nominating committee for the <br />Library Board of Trustees. Mr. Pato explained the Nominating Committee consists of three <br />members, one representative from the Board of Selectmen, one from the School Committee, and <br />one from the Clergy Association. The Nominating Committee will present a slate of five <br />Executive Board members, including a Chair and a Vice Chair, for a vote at the Annual Meeting <br />of the Cary Memorial Library Board of Trustees in May. Mr. Lucente volunteered to be the <br />Board of Selectmen representative on the Nominating Committee. <br />Ms. Barry reminded all that the Patriots’ Day weekend schedule of events is listed on the Town <br />Website. <br />Mr. Lucente stated the Ad Hoc Crematory Study Committee will produce an interim report that <br />will be distributed to the Board and be made available at 2019 Annual Town Meeting later this <br />week. <br />Mr. Sandeen said he will attend a climate change projections session hosted by Minuteman <br />Advisory Group Interlocal Council (MAGIC) on Thursday, April 4, 2019. <br />2019 Annual Town Meeting <br /> Article Discussion <br />Article 27 - Appropriate For Authorized Capital Improvements <br />Mr. Malloy explained that the Recreation Committee discussed the Center Track Project last <br />week and were deadlocked at 2-2 when deciding which option to go forward with.
