Town of Lexington Human Services Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes — October 24, 2018 <br /> Attendees: Gail Fields, Co-Chair, Lea Gardner Elkin, Co-Chair, Martha Kurland, Betty <br /> Borghesani, Bonnie Tenpas, Charlotte Rodgers, Human Services Director (staff), Anthony <br /> Serio, Assistant Director of Youth & Family Services (staff), Doug Lucente, Board of <br /> Selectman, and Kate Colburn, School Committee. <br /> Gail called the meeting to order at 7:15 pm and everyone introduced themselves. <br /> Minutes of the prior meeting from (September 26, 2018) were accepted. <br /> Charlotte Rodgers and Anthony Serio presented an update on the William James <br /> Interface Referral Implementation. Charlotte explained the intake and on-boarding <br /> process with regards to gathering information about current mental health providers in <br /> Lexington, and announced the official website launch, which will occur on November 15, <br /> 2018. The committee ran a demo of Interface and discussed ways to better advertise <br /> links to the Interface website, including: presentations filmed by Lexmedia to the Board <br /> of Selectman and School Committee, links on Town website(s), the idea of a tax insert <br /> for distribution to Lexington community members, and partnerships with <br /> pediatric/medical providers, as well as the Community Coalition for their community <br /> resource map. <br /> Upcoming Programming for Fall: <br /> - Reviewed "Vaping" event and teen support group <br /> - QPR trainings (community and joint School Committee/Board of Selectman) <br /> - Holiday Programming (Beacon Santa, meals, and gift cards) <br /> - Plans for Parent Academy (03/23/19) <br /> Mental Health & Wellness Updates: Discussed CHNA 15 Best Practices in Mental Health <br /> & Wellness grant update, including mid-year report. Reviewed Community Intervention <br /> Team (CCIT) partnership and outreach social work position through the Human Services <br /> Department. Discussed the Mental Health and Wellness Task Force onboarding process <br /> with regards to staff and advisory groups in order to create a sustainable entity to <br /> address and improve goal areas. <br /> Meeting adjourned at 9:OOPM <br /> Next meeting scheduled for Wednesday, 28, 2018 at 7pm at the Lexington <br /> Community Center Room 217 (there will be no December meeting). <br />
