Wendy Heiger-Bernays, PhD, served as Chair Person. David Neylon reviewed the Community Health Report; On Thursday, May 17, the Public Health Nurse attended the CRNA Showcase at Grandview Farm, Burlington to share information on the Lexington CRNA Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) grant that the Lexington Office of Public Health (LOPH) recently completed. With $2,100 of funds from this CRNA grant, LOPH was able to facilitate 5 Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) trainings in Lexington. As part of the showcase, the Public Health Nurse had a table with handouts explaining our successful grant to other attendees. A mosquito collected on Wednesday, June 20th in the town of Weymouth was the first mosquito of the year in Massachusetts to test positive for West Nile Virus. At this time there have been no mosquitos, animals or humans in Lexington test positive for WNV. Lexington Office of Public Health (LOPH) developed a press release on this topic, including prevention methods for avoiding mosquito bites for residents. The first Mosquito and Tick presentation of the season will take place Thursday, June 28th at 2:OOpm at the Lexington Community Center. Public Health Intern Keeley Mazurkiewicz will present on the prevention of mosquito and tickborne diseases such as West Nile Virus and Lyme Disease. Further presentations are being scheduled for later in the Summer. Environmental Health report was reviewed and the following cases were discussed; Beijing Chinese Dining; Maureen Lee, Food Consultant, reviewed the progress of the establishment. Maureen Lee, and an establishment representative will be present at the next scheduled BOH meeting date (See April 24, 2018 meeting Minutes for more detail). 19C Greeley Village, Town officials and the Lexington Housing Authority visited the dwelling due to concerns about the sanitary conditions, routes of egress and potential fire risk. An order to Correct was issued on June 15, 2018. Cleaning Products at Fiske Elementary School; The Office of Public Health received a phone call from a contractor about concerns over the use of various cleaning products at the Fiske Elementary School. A study will be conducted by Environment Health & Engineering, Inc for different common chemicals used in areas of this facility (See May 22, 2018 meeting minutes for more detail). The Emergency Preparedness report was reviewed and the following topics were discussed; On Wednesday, May 23rd from 3:30pm to 4:15pm Massachusetts Department of Public Health Commissioner Monica Bharel conducted a conference call with local boards of health. In addition to topics of emergency preparedness, the Commissioner discussed regulations updates, mosquitos and ticks, e-cigarettes, substance abuse as well as a question and answer period. CPR and First Aid Training for MRC Volunteers will be conducted Tuesday, June 26' from 6:OOPM — 9:OOPM. The training is sponsored by Region 4a Medical Reserve Coordinator Burt Perlmutter, M.D., motioned that the Board go into Executive Session to review confidential personnel material.
