Blodgett <br />Lexington Christian Academy <br />Meadow Breeze Day Camp <br />48 Bartlett Avenue <br />Introduction <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />MAY 12, 1987 <br />The monthly meeting of the Board of Health was held on Tuesday, May 12, <br />1987 at 7:30 p.m. in Room G-15 of the Town Office Building. Members <br />presents were: Dr. Linda Roemer, Dr. Stanley Finkelstein and Mr. George <br />Smith, Jr., Director of Public Health. Dr. Goldmann was unable to attend. <br />Mr. Smith introduced Dr. Linda Roemer as the new Board member. Dr. <br />Roemer, a previous Board member, had previously served the town for a <br />three-year term and could not take a second term dur to commitments <br />that made her relocate to Nairobi, Kenya. <br />Board of Some mention was made of the Agenda item on reorganization and the <br />Health election of a Chairman. Dr. Finkelstein felt that more time was needed <br />Reorganization to consider this item. He felt that it was too important to take action <br />on short notice. <br />It was recommended that this be deferred to the next Board meeting when, <br />hopefully, all members would be present and more thought could be given <br />to the process. <br />Mr. Smith indicated he still had not been in contact with Dr. DeIulio <br />relative to the Board letter of March 18, 1987. <br />Mosquito Mr. Smith reviewed the aerial Mosquito Larviciding Program which was <br />Larviciding completed on April 21, 1987. Mr. Smith indicated that we apparently <br />received good larve control with this application. He also said he <br />was expecting a written report from the East Middlesex Mosquito <br />Control Project onthis project. <br />Dr. Roemer inquired into theeducational effort and Mr. Smith said that <br />information from the State did not indicate any problems, but we have <br />our material ready to go. <br />Dr. Roemer suggested that we think about sending information home with <br />elementary school children. <br />Mr. Smith also indicated that our mosquito control efforts had been <br />enhanced by the addition of the Town of Lincoln and Hanscom Field to <br />the EMMCP. These additions, in particular Hanscom, has saved Lexing- <br />ton in the range of $2,000.00. <br />
