Blodgett
Lexington Christian Academy
Meadow Breeze Day Camp
48 Bartlett Avenue
Introduction
BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING
MAY 12, 1987
The monthly meeting of the Board of Health was held on Tuesday, May 12,
1987 at 7:30 p.m. in Room G-15 of the Town Office Building. Members
presents were: Dr. Linda Roemer, Dr. Stanley Finkelstein and Mr. George
Smith, Jr., Director of Public Health. Dr. Goldmann was unable to attend.
Mr. Smith introduced Dr. Linda Roemer as the new Board member. Dr.
Roemer, a previous Board member, had previously served the town for a
three-year term and could not take a second term dur to commitments
that made her relocate to Nairobi, Kenya.
Board of Some mention was made of the Agenda item on reorganization and the
Health election of a Chairman. Dr. Finkelstein felt that more time was needed
Reorganization to consider this item. He felt that it was too important to take action
on short notice.
It was recommended that this be deferred to the next Board meeting when,
hopefully, all members would be present and more thought could be given
to the process.
Mr. Smith indicated he still had not been in contact with Dr. DeIulio
relative to the Board letter of March 18, 1987.
Mosquito Mr. Smith reviewed the aerial Mosquito Larviciding Program which was
Larviciding completed on April 21, 1987. Mr. Smith indicated that we apparently
received good larve control with this application. He also said he
was expecting a written report from the East Middlesex Mosquito
Control Project onthis project.
Dr. Roemer inquired into theeducational effort and Mr. Smith said that
information from the State did not indicate any problems, but we have
our material ready to go.
Dr. Roemer suggested that we think about sending information home with
elementary school children.
Mr. Smith also indicated that our mosquito control efforts had been
enhanced by the addition of the Town of Lincoln and Hanscom Field to
the EMMCP. These additions, in particular Hanscom, has saved Lexing-
ton in the range of $2,000.00.
