446 <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />OCTOBER 16, 1984 <br />The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Health was held Tuesday, October <br />16, 1984 at 7:15 p.m. in Room G-1 (Recreation Office) of the Town Office Building. <br />Members present were:Donald A. Goldmann, M. D., Howard B. Asarkof, D.D.S. and Mr. <br />George A. Smith, Jr., Director of Public Health. <br />Mr. Smith introduced and welcomed Dr. Asarkof as a new member of the Board of <br />Health. <br />Minutes of the September 10, 1984 meeting were acceptable to the Board. <br />SANITARIAN'S Mr. Smith told the Board that Mrs. Deborah Halko, Sanitarian, was unable to <br />REPORT be present this evening so he reported that she has been very busy doing inspections <br />and re -inspections. <br />They have to keep right after Dunkin Donuts to the point of telling the owner <br />(manager) if things were not improved upon the Board of Health would have to close <br />them down. Even the help was dirty looking. Mr. Smith and Mrs. Halko went back to <br />Dunkin Donuts today and things had really improved and the help was much, cleaner <br />looking. They will go back in another month for another inspection. <br />Mr. Smith said they also went back to Castiello's Bakery. It was not clean. <br />Mr. Smith and Mrs. Halko are going to re -inspect it every two weeks. <br />The plans to put a kitchen in the basement at Castiello's had been approved <br />but now Mr. DiMatteo has put a "stop work order" on this because of doing some <br />things differently than the plan showed. <br />Dr. Asarkof mentioned the various eating places that the help does not wear <br />"hair restraints". <br />Mr. Smith said he keeps trying to get them to wear them. He said the mana- <br />gers keep saying "they are on order". <br />At 8;00 p.m. members of the RDNA Advisory Committee came before the Board <br />RDNA to formally present the cover letter and the proposed regulations for Recom- <br />ADVISORY binant RDNA Research for the Town of Lexington. Those members of the committee <br />COMMITTEE present were: Diane Nosnick, Chairman of the Committee; Donald A. Goldmann, Mj.D. <br />(Board of Health Member, also) Iclal S. Hartman, Ph.D. and Stephen W. Miller, M. D. <br />Mr. George A. Smith, Jr., Director of Public Health accepted the proposed <br />regulations for James W. Lambie, Chairman of the Board of Health in his absence. <br />The regulations will be reviewed and discussed at the November meeting of <br />the Board of Health. <br />RDNA will be on cable T.V. in December when a film will be shown with a <br />question and answer period following. <br />At the next Board of Health Meeting in November the Board of Health will <br />decide a date to hold a public hearing in regard to RDNA. <br />FEE INCREASE <br />Town Meeting in June of 1984. <br />Mr. Smith told the Board some fees had been approved for an increase at <br />
