Mr. Henley said
that larvae has also been found in Bedford and that is an area that should be
watched. He said Bedford has more larvae than Lexington.
Mr. Henley said he would not suggest any townwide truck spraying at this time
but he would suggest using a toto-mist near the schools or recreation area. He
feels the Minute Man Vocational School yard area should be sprayed.
Mr. Smith said Dr. Monderer is sending out memos to the schools suggesting that
they not have any school field trips in any area where there is likely to be
mosquitoes.
The Board suggested to Mr. Smith that he write a letter to the school principals
in regard to mosquitoes. If the principals feel that spraying or roto -mist is
necessary, the Town will spray.
Mr. Henley said the risk has been decreased but there is potential for it to be
on the rise again.
It was decided that larvaciding will continue until the water dries up and if
their is no rain. All we need now is cool, dry weather. The danger -period for
mosquitoes will end with the first frost.
