BOARD OF HEALTH Y STING <br />FEBRuARY 3, 1969 <br />The regular meeting of the board or Heaitn was neld February <br />3, 1969 at '(:00 P.M. in the Hoard of Health Orrice. Members <br />present were: Dr. William L. Cosgrove, Chairman, Dr. Charles <br />Colburn, Mr. James W. Lambie and Health Director, Robert C. <br />Heustis. <br />Minutes of the <January 10, 1969 meeting were approved <br />as read. <br />The letter to Joseph F. Burke, Superintendent or Yuolic <br />"ULD Works stating tne requirements for the sanitary facilities at <br />RES" the site of the "Old Res" was approved by the Board. <br />Mr. Heustis explained that to date hr. Burke nas been <br />getting the requirements for developing this area in a piece- <br />meal way, This letter was to coordinate tne requirements in <br />order that the Selectmen, :Public Works Department and tne <br />Recreation Committee would be able to approximate the cost or <br />the development. <br />Mr. Kennetn Tarbell, State Sanitary Engineer, nas also <br />requested that final plans for the operation, including sani- <br />tary facilities and operation equipment, be submitted to nim <br />ror approval prior to the commencement of work. <br />TB LABORATORY The advisory letter Brom tne State Division or Sanatoria <br />FEES & Tuberculosis Control regarding the payment of laboratory <br />services ror out-patients was read and placed on rile by the <br />Board. <br />In the future any necessary laboratory tests relating to <br />the management or diagnosis of a patient with tuberculosis or <br />suspected tuberculosis must be paid for by the local boards <br />ofnealtn. Tne fees paid will tnen be reimbursed by tne State <br />Division of Tuberculosis. <br />The clerk pointed out tnat altnougn tne State will <br />reimburse tne local health departments this letter was not <br />received in time to make adjustments in tne 1969 Expense Bud- <br />get and the reimbursement money is not available for use by <br />tne department. <br />The Board suggested that Mr. Ricn_ard terry, comptroller, <br />oe notified of this mandatory service in the event it is <br />necessary to request additional funds later in the year. <br />Tia The clerk reported a second patient admitted to kiddie - <br />PATIENT sex County Sanatorium during the past month. She explained <br />that some of these patients are covered by Blue Cross which <br />has kept the cost down. <br />&,:BiMMiNG Mr. Heustis explained tnat at least two of tne semi - <br />POOLS public swimming pools licensed prior to the adoption. of Article <br />Vl, State Sanitary Code, did not meet tiie requirements as <br />stated in the Code and ne wondered ir the Board wanted to set <br />1 <br />1 <br />
