149 <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 6, 1967 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Health was held <br />February 6, 1967, at 7:00 P.M. in the Health Department <br />Office. Members present were Dr. William Cosgrove, Acting <br />Chairman and James F. Finneran, Director of Public Health. <br />Mr. West was unable to attend the meeting but went over the <br />agenda with the clerk earlier and stated his opinions re- <br />garding each item of business that would require discussion <br />or vote. He also gave the clerk permission to sign for <br />him the renewal licensesand permits requiring his signature <br />at this meeting. <br />Minutes of the December 5, 1966 meeting were approved <br />as read. <br />The letter to Musgrave's Tower Farm, Inc., 494 Boston MUSGRAVE <br />Road, Billerica, regarding the high bacterial counts in TOWER FARM <br />the milk sampling for the past year was approved. This <br />letter also stated that if the standards of the milk products <br />were not improved the license for the sale of retail milk <br />products in Lexington would not be renewed for the coming <br />year. <br />The letter to Miss Ethel Wright, School Lunch Program <br />Coordinator, regarding the bacteriological tests on the <br />multi -use utensils from the Senior High School and Hancock <br />School was approved. <br />Mr. Finneran reported that Miss Wright called him and <br />he went over to the High School at the time of the dish- <br />washing operation. Tests were made as the utensils oame <br />out of the dish washer. It was found that the machine <br />was not doing the job properly. Miss Wright called a <br />representative of the company that handles the dish -washing <br />machine and had him come out to the school and check the <br />operation until satisfaction was obtained. Miss Wright <br />has also stated she was changing to a detergent that contained <br />chlorine in all the schools. <br />Dr. Cosgrove approved the action taken and stated that <br />a check of the dish -washing operation at the schools should <br />be continued until it was certain that it was operating <br />properly. <br />The letter from Antonio Del Rios, Field Representative MIGRANT <br />for the Department of Labor, Migrant Division of the Common- WORKERS <br />wealth of Puerto Rico, was read by the Board, Mr. Del Rios <br />stated that a complaint had been received regarding the • <br />living and sleeping quarters at Porter Wilson Greenhouse, <br />6 East Street, Lexington. This complaint stated that the <br />housing provided needed to be enlarged, that the shower and <br />toilet facilities were constantly out of order, the beds <br />were too close and the living and sleeping area should be <br />divider from the cooking area. <br />Mr. Finneran stated he had made an inspection of the <br />living quarters and found that they consisted of a single <br />room 18 feet by 29 feet with a ceiling height of 9 feet. <br />
