578 <br />ADULT <br />POLIO <br />PROGRAM <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />MARCH 28, 1963 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Health was held Thursday <br />evening, March 28, 1963, in the Health Department Off -ice. Mem- <br />bers present were R.L. McQuillan, Chairman, Mr. James West and <br />Executive Health Officer, Mr. James F. Finneran. <br />The minutes of the February 28, 1963 meeting were approved <br />as read. <br />Mr. McQuillan stated that all the Communities around has <br />an Adult Polio Program in progress and he and Mr. Finneran had <br />been discussing the possibility of contacting the service clubs <br />in Town to see- if they would sponsor an Oral -Sabin Polio Clinic <br />for adults. <br />Mr. Finneran said he had drafted a letter to be sent to <br />the Rotary Club, Lions Club and the Junior Chamber of Commerce <br />stating the possibility of using an adult polio clinic as a <br />fund raising project. The Board read the draft of this letter <br />and suggested that a -more detailed outline of the expense of <br />such a project be listed and also the approximate amount that <br />could be made on such a program. <br />After further discussion Mr. West made the motion that the <br />draft of the letter with the suggested revision be mailed to <br />the service -clubs and if one of these clubs agreed to Sponsor <br />the adult clinic the Health Department would give them all the <br />help necessary. Motion seconded and duly passed. <br />POSTURE The correspondence regarding the Posture Clinic was read <br />CLINIC by the Board. <br />CHILD CARE <br />CENTERS <br />The letters to the Selectmen and the Appropriation <br />ittee requesting $1000. appropriation in order that the <br />of the Posture Clinic could be carried on until the end <br />School Year in June were approved by the Board. <br />The letter to Mrs. Flynn, chairman of the Posture Clinic <br />thanking her for her work with the Posture Clinic and stating <br />that the appropriation -requested had been granted also that <br />the Board of Health would be gladto meet with her and the <br />P.T.A. Council to discuss the future of the Posture Clinic. <br />Mr. Finneran reported that we had filled out application <br />for the licensing of the Child Care Centers in Lexington under <br />the State Health Department. The Board approved this action. <br />521 BEDFORD The order to Francis and Nida Nagle to connect the one - <br />STREET family dwelling at 521 Bedford Street to public sewer was <br />approved by the Board. <br />C omm- <br />work <br />of the <br />Mr. Finneran reported that sewage was found running from <br />the front yard abutting the public side -walk over the retaining <br />wall onto the public way. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
