1 <br />1 <br />5.3 <br />BOARD OF IJALTH MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 23, 1962 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Health was held Friday, <br />November 23, 1962, at 7:30 P.M. in the Selectmen's Room of the <br />Town Office Building. Members present were Mr. R.L. McQuillan, <br />Chairman, Dr. William Cosgrove and James F. Finneran, Executive <br />Health Officer. <br />The minutes of the October 26, 1962 meeting were approved. <br />The letter to Mr. Joseph Curra, 44 Cedar Street, Lexington,44 CEDAR <br />Mass., regarding the accumulation of construction rubbish on <br />Columbus Street was approved by the Board. <br />Mr. Finneran explained that a complaint had been received <br />regarding this rubbish and after his investigation he spoke to <br />Mr. John Carroll, Superintendent of Public Works, about cleaning <br />this up. Mr. Carroll said as this was not a public way it was <br />not the Town's responsibility. Further investigation revealed <br />the property belonged to the Curra family. This matter will be <br />re -inspected at a later date to check on compliance. <br />The proofs of the placards which Mr. Finneran ordered for FOODHANDLE'A <br />distribution to Foodhandlers were approved by the Board. The PLACARDS j <br />Board thought these placards, reminding all foodhandlers to <br />wash their hands before handling food and equipment, an excellent <br />idea. <br />The letter to Medill Bair, Superintendent of Schools, <br />stating that the second Flu Clinic for the School and Town <br />Personell would be held December 4, 1962, at 3:00 P.M. was <br />approved by the Board. <br />FLU CLINIC <br />The Board instructed Mr. Finneran to bill the School De- <br />partment for the Flu shots for all School Pensonell when the <br />clinic was over. This was the original agreement with Mr. Bair <br />in September. <br />The letter to Miss Margaret Morrison, Lexington Visiting NURSING <br />Nurse Association, regarding the inspection of Nursing Homes HOMES <br />was approved by the Board. The letter from Miss Morrison of <br />the Lexington Visiting Nurse Association agreeing to check the <br />nursing homes was read and placed on file. <br />Mr. Finneran showed the Board the inspection sheets for <br />this inspection and explained that although we have only four <br />nursing homes in Town he felt it important to keep a check on <br />them. <br />The Board agreed with Mr. Finneran and said they felt it <br />very important to keep a check on these establishments. <br />The milk analysis report was checked and three companies MILK <br />had a high Coli count. The Board asked Mr. Finneran about this ANALYSIS <br />and he said a series of counts would have to be taken to check <br />on this. <br />
