BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />November 20, 1959 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of health was held Friday, <br />November 20, 1959 at 3 P.M. in the Selectmen's room of the Town <br />Office Building. Mr. McQuillan, Chairman, Doctor William Cos- <br />grove, Mr. Charles Cole and Health Officer Mr. Mark Lurvey were <br />present. <br />Minutes of the October 23, 1959 <br />the following corrections: <br />Page 4: <br />Paragraph on Anthony Busa should be <br />Letter to Anthony Busa, 36. Letter to Mr. Worthen Taylor, Division of San- <br />itation asking his opinion regarding the instulation of sanitary <br />disposal systems in the vicinity of Waltham Street, Valleyfield <br />Road and Bridge Street areas was approved. <br />Mr. B. L. Cummings owner of B. L. Cummings Milk Company was B.L. <br />asked to appear before the Board to discuss the condition of his CUMMINGS <br />establishment. <br />meeting were approved with <br />-11 <br />397 <br />corrected to read: CORRECTIONS <br />demanding he connect OF OCTOBER <br />of 46 Lowell Street 23, 1959 <br />MEETING <br />Mr. Lurvey told the Board that on July 14, 1959 an inspection <br />was made of -Mr. Cummings milk plant at which time he called to Mr. <br />Cummings attention the condition of the ceiling in the pasturizing <br />room, the condition of the floor of the walk-in chest, toilet room <br />and the laboratory. Upon re -inspection on September 17, 1959 Mr. <br />Lurvey found the toilet room cleaned and also the laboratory, the <br />ceiling in the pasturizing room had been scraped but not painted. <br />Mr. Cummings at this time told Mr. Lurvey he would have the ceiling <br />painted by October 1, 1959. Nothing had been done to the floor of <br />the walk-in chest. On November 16, 1959 Mr. Lurvey made another <br />inspection of Mr. Cumming's establishment and found the ceiling in <br />the pasturizing room and the floor of the walk-in chest bad not been <br />repaired. The plate count on regular family milk samples taken on <br />November 16, 1959 was high. <br />Mr. Cummings told the 'Board of Health that he had scraped the <br />ceiling but had not finished it because he wanted to put on a new <br />product put out by Swift Co. which was guaranteed to stay on and <br />not peel. Mr. Cummings also showed Mr. Lurvey the acknowledgment <br />of the order from Swift Co. Mr. Cummings stated further that he <br />was installing a new washer in the plant and also a sweet -water tank <br />cooler outside the building and that until these things were done <br />he did not want to do much repair, but when these things were done <br />he would re -tile the floor of the walk-in chest. <br />Mr. Lurvey said the whole plant needed painting and that he <br />had been very patient since last July about the condition of this <br />establishment. Mr. Lurvey asked Mr. Cummings what he thought was <br />a reasonable length of time to do this work and clean up the wnole <br />plant. <br />Mr. Cummings said he did not know but he would do this work <br />as soon as possible.
