BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />July 17, 1959 <br />A meeting of the Board of Health was held on Friday July <br />17, 1959, in the Selectmen's Room. Town Offices, at 3 2.M. <br />with Chairman McQuillan, and Health Officer Lurvey present. <br />The Minutes of the Meeting on June 26, 1959 <br />and approved by the Board. <br />The Minutes of the Meeting on July 13, 1959 <br />and approved by the Board. <br />Mr. Joseph Baseman'came into discuss unsanitary manner in <br />which food is being handled at the Regent Delicatessen, 1729 REGENT <br />Massachusetts Avenue. The Board informed Mr. Baseman that DELICATESSEN <br />they would not tolerate any violations of the Health Department <br />regulations and that he was t� advise.his employees of the <br />proper manner in which to handle food. Smoking in the dining <br />room and kitchen is also to be discontinued by his employees. <br />It Was also brought to his attention that many complaints have <br />been received by the Health Department regarding poor food hand- <br />ling, one of which is the way that bread is transported from <br />truck to store. This bread must be stored in a sanitary manner. <br />The Board would like Mr. Lurvey to send a letter to Mr. Baseman <br />calling the Board's action to the attention to Mr. Baseman. <br />were <br />were <br />corrected <br />corrected <br />381 <br />Mrs. Dorothy Jones was interviewed by the Board for the DORADTHY <br />position of secretary and will start work on July 27, 1959. JONES <br />The Board wants Mr. Lurvey to write to Miss King to in- MISS <br />"form her that the position for secretary to the Board of Health KING <br />has been filled. <br />The case of premature Infant Koff, 37 Vaille Avenue was PREMATURE <br />discussed by the Board and whereas there is no settlement with KOFF <br />in the Commonwealth the Board of Health has no obligation other <br />then to forward all information received in this case to the <br />State Health Department. <br />The Board of Health received the application to maintain <br />a Child Care Center at 8 Oxbow Road. Before any further <br />action is taken by the Board they would like a report from <br />the Lexington Fire Department as to their requirements re- <br />garding safety against fire for the children. <br />The letter from Harold Stevens, Town Council, regarding DENTAL <br />the responsibility in maintaining the town dental clinic was CLINIC <br />discussed. It was voted to contact the members of the dental <br />clinic and posture clinic to meet with the Board at the Board's <br />first meeting in September to discuss these respective clinies <br />with them. It was suggested by Mr. Lurvey that the Board also <br />write to Mrs. Porter, Dental Hygienist informing her that the <br />dental clinic is now the responsibility of the Board of Health <br />and invite her to come.to the meeting in September also. <br />The letter to Mr. John Furguson, Massachusetts Division <br />of the Blind was approved. <br />Letter approved by the Board regarding the purchase of <br />Polio Vacinne. <br />CHILD <br />CARE <br />CENTER <br />JOHN <br />FURGUSON <br />VACCINE <br />
