1 <br />313 <br />BOARD OF WEALTH MEETING <br />February 21, 1958 <br />The Board of Health met on Friday, February 21, 1958, at <br />3 P.M. for a regular monthly meeting. Chairman McQuillan, <br />Dr. Cosgrove and Tr. Lurvey were present. <br />Mrs. Wilda Ward, 233 East Street, met with the Board at <br />3 P.M. on the question of a Child Care Center License. She Child <br />has not applied for Health Department approval since 1954, Care <br />althought applications and a letter have been sent to her. Center <br />Mrs. Ward said she misunderstood, and thought Board of Appeals <br />approval covered her school. The Board agreed to grant Mrs. Mrs. <br />Ward a license with certain conditions which Mr. Lurvey listed, Ward <br />such as proper lighting, reconstruction of entrance, etc. <br />Mrs. Ward also asked for approval of one room on the first <br />floor in her house so that she might take care of more children. <br />The Health Officer is to make an inspection before this is <br />granted. <br />Child Care Licenses were approved and signed for: Child <br />Tom Thumb Nursery, 759 Waltham Street Care <br />Playschool, 8 Marrett Road Licenses. <br />Arlex Nursery, 21 Butler Avenue 1 <br />Beaverbrooke Academy, 114 Concord Turnpike '{ <br />Iris Howard's Nursery & Kindergarten, 15 Ewell Avenue <br />The Kinder -Group, 233 East Street <br />Two subdivisions were approved by the Board: Loring Hill <br />Estates, Section 2, and Green Valley, Section 3. <br />The Health Officer is still trying to get a report from Miss <br />Goldman, State Inspector for the Bureau of Hospital Facilities, <br />for 31 Maple Street, which is thought to be a home for the aged. <br />We have not been asked by the State for our approval as is the <br />usual procedure. If we do not hear from Miss Goldman within the <br />next week, the Board suggested writing to Dr. Rubenstein, the <br />Director of Hospital Facilities, to ask his cooperation. <br />Mr. Lurvey has written to Mrs. Anna Phillips concerning the <br />need of a new sink in her restaurant. If this is not accom- <br />plished in the next few weeks, it was decided to ask Mrs. <br />Phillips to attend the next Board meeting. <br />Sub- <br />Divisionsi <br />A Rubbish Disposal Permit for Champion Disposal Service, <br />72 Valleyfield Street, Lexington; a Sewage Disposal Permit for <br />New England Sanitation Company, 167 Beal Street, Waltham; a <br />Poultry Slaughterhouse License for Idylwilde Farm, 23 Middle <br />Street, Lexington, and an Animal Permit Renewal for Dr. V. A. <br />McCrossan, 627 Massachusetts Avenue, were granted.
