230 <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />June 18, 1954 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Health was held Friday, <br />lune 18, 1954 at 3 P.M. in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office <br />Building. Chairman R. L. McQuillan and Dr. Cosgrove were <br />present. Mr. Jackson, Health Sanitarian, and the Clerk were <br />also present. <br />Mr. James L. Gormley, Old Concord Road, South Lincoln, <br />Massage appeared before the Board at 3.20 P.M. re application for <br />License license to practice massage. Mr. McQuillan asked for a little <br />information on this license as thereis very little in the state <br />laws outside of the fact that a license must be obtained in the <br />town. <br />Mr. Gormley stated that his cases were referred to from <br />doctors for back strain and tired muscles, and were by appoint- <br />ment only. <br />The Chairman questioned if Mr. cbrmley was going to build <br />up a Health Clinic and Dr. Cosgrove asked if it were anything <br />like a Health Clinic. Mr. Gormley replied No, it was more <br />like Swedish massages. <br />Replies to letters written to references supplied by <br />Mr. Gormley have not as yet been received, Mr. Giles, con- <br />tractor in Lincoln, and Mr. Kelleher, retired Chief of Police <br />of Lincoln. <br />The Board stated that they had no objections to granting <br />this license, but would wait until the reference letters were <br />received and Mr. Gormley could keep in touch with Mr. Jackson. <br />Mr. Gormley intends to purchase home at 6 Taft Ave., Lexington, <br />for this business if license is granted by the Board of Health <br />and also permission received from the Board of Appeals as to <br />zoning. Mr. Gormley retired at 3.30 P.M. <br />Chairman It was voted, subject to the approval of Mr. Cole, to re- <br />elect Mr. McQuillan as Chairman for the Board for a term of one <br />year. <br />Application for public assistance received from John Skinner <br />"Bill for the hospital bilis of his wife who is at present at the Haynes <br />Memorial Hospital with a form of encephalitis which is a commun- <br />icable disease. Mr. Skinner is unable to pay the bill, but ac- <br />cording to a budget worked out by Mr. Collins, Welfare Agent, <br />it was felt that Mr. Skinner could pay $15.00 a week towards the <br />bill. It could not be determined how long Mrs. Skinner will be <br />in the hospital until Mr. Jackson can communicate with the doctor. <br />The Board suggested that this case be held in abeyance until Mr. <br />Jackson checks further and also contacts Mr. Stevens regarding it. <br />Premature Application for assistance was received from Mr. Zittel fer <br />Baby hospital bill of his premature baby born May 23, 1954, and who is <br />Zittel still in the Boston Lying -In Hospital.
