228 <br />Paul <br />Revere <br />Road <br />Dailey's <br />Piggery <br />Sewer <br />Premature <br />Baby <br />Potter's <br />Piggery <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />May 26, 1954 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Health was held <br />Friday, May 26 at 3 P.M. in the Selectmen's Room, Town <br />Office Building. Mr. McQuillan, Chairman, Dr. Cosgrove, <br />and Mr. Cole were present. Mr. Richard Jackson, Health <br />Sanitarian, and the Clerk were also present. <br />A letter from the Selectmen was presented to the Board <br />concerning the complaint from Mr. John Brucchi regarding <br />overflowing cesspools in the MCC onchie development, dumping <br />onto his property. The Chairman suggested that Mr. Jackson <br />contact the State and ask their advice on how to remedy the <br />situation in this area. <br />The Chairman suggested that the Health Sanitarian be a <br />little tougher in granting permits for cesspools and septic <br />tanks, and tighten up on these people by insisting on more <br />atone, etc., than is the minimum allowed. Mr. Cole stated <br />that samples of the soil where septic tanks or cesspools <br />are to be, can be tested by the State, and if it is not <br />according to minimum size, they will tell you. <br />A letter was received from Mr. Stevens regarding Dailey's <br />piggery, and this case is still pending in Court, and advising <br />that the Health Sanitarian keep a check on the premises. <br />A letter was also received frau Mr. Stevens regarding A. C. <br />Mortimer, 14 Dexter Road, and his intention to connect to <br />the sewer. Mr. Stevens was notified that this house has <br />now been connected to the sewer. <br />It was recommended by the Board that a letter be sent <br />to all those in the Sunwfield section and Manor section, <br />who had been granted an extension to April 1, 1954, asking <br />that they notify the Board of Health as soon as possible <br />of their intentions. <br />The correspondence regarding the Fidler premature baby was <br />discussed by the Board, and it was agreed to contact Mr. <br />Stevens for legal advice on this matter. <br />A petition was received signed by 41 owners of property <br />in the vicinity of Potter's piggery asking that this piggery <br />be removed. The Board recommended that a public hearing be <br />held on June 11 at 8 o'clock in the Selectmen's Room, Town <br />Office Building, and that thesd people be so notified. <br />Report of the L.V.N.A. for the <br />filed. <br />Reports on drainage and sewage <br />Alison Road from Mr. Lucas of Whitman & H <br />Road the Board.
