225 <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />April 16, 1954 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Health was held Friday, <br />April 16th at 3 P.M. in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building. <br />Chairman Mctquillan and Dr. Cosgrove were present. The clerk was <br />also present. <br />The report from Whitman & Howard re- subdivision of Liberty Sub-, <br />Avenue was presented to the Board for their approval. The div - <br />Chairman requested that a letter be sent to the Planning Board is1G1 <br />approving this subdivision subject to the acceptance of the Liberty <br />builder of the plan as submitted in the report. Ave. <br />A letter was presented from the Board of Selectmen relative <br />to the use of a bulldozer covering the dump on private property <br />on Essex Street, owners being the Misses O'Learys of Woburn <br />Street. The Board of Selectmen did not wish to take any action <br />in this matter as this dump is on private property. A letter Es 8432, <br />was also received from the owners of the property granting St. <br />permission to cover the dump. Mr. McQuillan requested that a Dump <br />letter be written to Mr. Leonard Jellis who brought this sit- <br />uation to the attention of the Board, exvlaining the Select- <br />men's view on this situation and suggesting that those people <br />close to the dump get together and cover it over for their own <br />protection. <br />Mr. McQuillan asked that Mr. Jackson get some m ore infor- <br />mation regarding the bids on publishing the new Rules and <br />Regulations and get in touch with him. <br />Mr. Charles Davis appeared before the Board at 4 P.M. at its <br />request to explain his slaughtering without the Slaughtering <br />Inspector being present. He said he bought the hogs in Mr. <br />Brighton and phoned from there to have the water heated and Davis <br />to telephone Mr. Jackson. When he arrived at the slaughtering <br />house, thr ought some misunderstanding Mr. Jackson had not <br />been notified, and as the water was ready for him, he went <br />ahead and slaughtered the hogs. The State Inspector came <br />in the next morning and found the unstamped bogs and re- <br />ported it to Mr. Jackson. These hogs were condemned and dis- <br />posed of at a cost to Mr. Davis of 1460.00 <br />Mr. McQuillan also brought to his attention the fact that <br />he had not paid any of the bills for slaughtering which had <br />been sent to him. At this time he paid his bill amounting <br />to $115.50. Mr. Davis retired at 4.10 P.M. <br />Application for slaughter house license and slaughtering <br />license from Mr. Monsignore and anolication for slaughtering <br />license from Mr. Davis were not granted at this time. <br />Report from the L .V.N.A. for the month of March was read <br />and noted. <br />At the request of the Chairman, it was voted to hold the <br />
