BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />May 15, 1953 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Health was held in the <br />Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building on Friday, May 15th., <br />1953 at 3.00 P.M. Chairman McQuillan, Dr. Cosgrove and Mr. <br />Charles H. Cole, were present. Mr. Jackson, Health Sanitarian, <br />and the Clerk were also present. <br />Mr. George H. Cole, 4 Franklin Road, Lexington, was appointed <br />by the Board of Selectmen to the Board of Health, to fill out the <br />unexpired term of Mr. George Russell. <br />Dr. Carl Benton, Animal Inspector for the Town, was present, <br />and explained to the members of the Board the various duties of <br />the Animal Inspector. <br />At. 3.30 P.M. Mr. Rupert St3vens met with the Board in the <br />interest of the developers regarding the sub -division of Foster <br />and Dane Roads. A letter was presented from H.K.Robinson Assoc. <br />agreeing to the recommendations made by Whitman & Howard. Mr. <br />Stevens said he discussed these recommendations with Mr. Burns, <br />Town Engineer, who said he neither approved nor disapproved the <br />connection to the storm drain, but that he would disapprove it <br />even though he felt that the State Board of Health might approve <br />it, due to our having so much trouble in the past due to such <br />situations. He recommended that the 4" collecting pipe be left <br />out and also the 4" pipe connecting to the storm drain. <br />203 <br />Dr. <br />Benton <br />Sub- <br />Divisiu <br />Foster <br />& Dane <br />Rds. <br />The members of the Board voted to apnrove this sub -division subject <br />to the changes above, and subject to the approval of Whitman & <br />Howard. A letter to be sent to the Planning Board to this effect. <br />Mr. Stevens retired at 4.00 P.M. <br />Mrs. Yntas appeared before the Board at 4.10 P.M. regarding <br />her permit for 1000 poultry. Mrs. Yntas explained to the Board <br />that in order to have 1000 laying hens it was necessary to keep <br />hatching baby chicks and at times had as many as 2000 or more <br />poultry. As the neighbors have submitted a petition complaining <br />of the condition of the premises and the overcrowding of the <br />poultry, the members of the Board after discussion, granted per- <br />mission to Mrs. Yntas to keep only 1000 poultry of all sizes and <br />types, and instructed that a letter be sent to Mrs. Yntas advising <br />her to this effect, and also that her premises must be kept clean <br />and in a sanitary condition if she wanted to continue to keep this <br />permit. <br />Mr s . <br />Yntaa <br />At 4.20 P.M. Mr. Leland McConehie appeared before the Board <br />relative to the sub -division on Burlington Street. He also presented <br />a letter stating that he agreed to follow recommendations as set <br />forth by Whitman & Howard. The same condition exists here as in Sub - <br />sub -division on Foster & Dane Roads, and thenembers of the Board Division <br />approved the sub -division with the exception that the 4" collect- Burl- <br />ing pipe and the 4" pipe connecting to the storm drain be elimi- ington' <br />nated, which was agreeable to Mr. McConchie, The 4hairman requested St. <br />that a letter be written to the Planning Board to this effect, <br />subject to the approval of Whitman & Howard. Mr. M cConchie retired <br />at .40 P.M. <br />
