195 <br />BOARD OF HEALTH M1i TING <br />February 21, 1953 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Health was held in <br />the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, on Friday, <br />February 21, 1953 at 3:;00 P. M. Chairman McQuillan, Mr. <br />Jackson, Health Sanitarian, and the Agent were present. <br />The following applications for permits were approved <br />by the Chairman and granted subject to approval by another <br />member of the Board: <br />Idylwilde Farm <br />Idylwilde Farm <br />V. Ave. <br />265 Lowell St. <br />202 Cedar St. <br />176 Cedar St. <br />Poultry Slaughter <br />1,500 poultry <br />80 poultry <br />6 goats <br />Nursing Home <br />2. horses <br />1 lamb <br />2 horses <br />(renewal) <br />m <br />lrr <br />The Chairman mentioned to the Sanitarian that there <br />are several places in Lexington, including roadside stands, <br />where food and vegetables are being sold and therefore <br />should be inspected. <br />The Chairman suggested that, following approval of the <br />budget at the Annual Town Meeting, the Lexington Visiting <br />Nurse Association be advised that the Board of Health would <br />enter into an arrangement for the Association to take care <br />of the nursing problems for the Board as it has in the past <br />for the sum of $1750 to be paid in twelve monthly payments. <br />He also recommended that the Association submit a list of <br />services rendered to the Board each month, not necessarily <br />including the charges. <br />Mr. Jackson reported that Miss Weltch, the School Nurse, <br />suggested that the Board of Health work in conjunction with <br />the School Department in setting up the Immunization Clinics, <br />whereby they would be under the jurisdiction or supervision <br />of the Town rather than the School Department. <br />The Chairman instructed Mr. Jackson to work out some <br />arrangement with Miss Weltch and submit it to the Board for <br />consideration. <br />Mr. Jackson suggested that the Board work out some <br />definite policy in re approval of sanitary facilities on <br />subdivisions which will be uniform and present it to all <br />applicants for subdivision approval in the future. The <br />Chairman suggested, and Mr. Jackson agreed, to bring in <br />recommendations for the Board's consideration. <br />
