138 <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />.January 18, 1952 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Health was <br />held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building <br />on Friday, January 18, 1952 at 3:00 P.M. Chairman <br />Cosgrove, Mr. McQuillan, Mr. Jackson, Health Sani- <br />tarian, and the Agent were present. <br />The Chairman read a letter from Keith L. Mac- <br />Lean, 80 Bloomfield Street, relative to a drainage <br />problem. He claims that water from Highland Avenue, <br />an accepted street, flows into his drive and backs <br />MacLean into his garage and cellar. <br />drainage The Agent was instructed to refer the communi- <br />cation to the Superintendent of Public Works inas- <br />much as the Board felt that this is a drainage pro- <br />blem rather than a matter for the Board of Health. <br />Licenses <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was <br />voted to renew the following licenses: <br />Mary Silva Trans. of Garbage <br />Community Nursery School Child Day Care <br />F. A. Napoli & Son Poultry Slaughter <br />Application was received from David Brooks, <br />140 Reed Street, for permission to keep two swine. <br />Mr. Jackson reported that some of the neighbors <br />object. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was <br />voted to deny the application. <br />Mr. Jackson reported that someone wants to <br />purchase the MacDonald poultry plant on Bedford <br />Street. The Board was of the opinion that no <br />license to keep poultry at this location would <br />be granted if there is a change in ownership. <br />A lengthy discussion was held relative to the <br />conditions on Gleason Road as a result of Mr. <br />Manor Stevens connecting his disposal pipes to the storm <br />sewage drain. Mr. Jackson *as instructed to take another <br />dye test immediately to determine whether or not <br />sewage from the Stevens' house is running into the <br />storm drain. <br />1 <br />
