BOARD OF HEALTH MtE1ING <br />July 20, 1951 <br />125 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Health <br />was held.in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office <br />Building, on Friday July 20 1951 at 3:00 P.M. <br />Chairman Cosgrove, Mr. McQuillan, Mr. Jackson, <br />Sanitarian, and the Agent were present. <br />Application was -received from Robert J. Hulk, <br />16 Burlington Street, for renewal of permit to ilk <br />keep two swine, swine <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded it was permit <br />voted to renew the permit. <br />Application was' received from Joseph L. <br />Gallini, 34-Middleby Road, for a permit to keep <br />100oultry. He had a permit in 1949 to keep <br />six (6), but did not apply for renewal in 1950. <br />Mr. Jackson reported that Mr. LoWe, the <br />nearest neighbor who lives about 50 yards away <br />does not object. Permit for 50 was approved. <br />(On Saturday, July 21, 1951, Mr. Crandall and <br />another neighbor discussed this with Mr. Jackson <br />and registered definite objection to more than <br />sixteen poultry being kept at this address. <br />Permit changed to read 16.) <br />Application was received from Anthoney Lertine <br />for a permit to keep 800 poultry at 404 Bedford <br />Street. Mr. Jackson explained that the applicant <br />rents the land from a Mr. Saunders'who built the <br />poultry plant during the war. He stated that the <br />nearest neighbor, about 50 yards away, objected <br />to the odor and Mr. Lertine said that he Would do Lertine <br />everything possible to keep the place clean and the poultry <br />odor down. He hasbeen operating for three years permit <br />and was not aware of the -fact that he should have <br />a permit. Mr. Jackson said -that this poultry plant <br />is Mr. Lertine's livelihood. <br />A permit to keep 800 poultry was granted with <br />the proviso that if complaints are received, the <br />Board may have to revoke it. <br />Applioation was received fram Dennis Welch <br />for permission to keep 10 poultry at 28 Winter Welch <br />Street. The neighbors have no objections and, poultry <br />therefore, the permit was granted. permit <br />Application was received from Robert B. <br />Sharkey, 9 Hazel Road, for a permit to keep 8 Shakey <br />ducks.
