93 <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />July 21, 1950 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Health was held <br />in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building on <br />Friday, July 21, 1950 at 3:00 P.M. Chairman Cos- <br />grove, Messrs. Russell and McQuillan were present. <br />Mr. Jackson, Health Sanitarian, was also present. <br />Application was received from Patrick J. Furdon, Furdon <br />822 Massachusetts Avenue, for permission to keep Poultry <br />ten poultry at this address. Mr. Jackson reported Permit <br />that the neighbors have no objections. <br />Upon motion of Mr. Russell, seconded by Mr. Mc- <br />Quillan, it was voted to grant Mr. Furdon a per- <br />mit to keep the requested number of poultry. <br />Application was received from John D. Polley for <br />the renewal of his permit to keep 3 cows, 4 calves, <br />1200 poultry and 1 swine at 189 Wood Street. Mr. Polley <br />Jackson reported that there were no objections from Animal <br />the neighbors. Permit <br />Upon motion of Mr. Russell, seconded by Mr. McQuillan <br />it was voted to grant the permit. <br />Further consideration was given -to Mr. William J. <br />Dailey's application for a permit to keep 1500 Dailey <br />poultry at 111 Marrett Road. Poultry <br />The Board was unanimously opposed to granting a Permit <br />permit to keep poultry at this location. Denied <br />Mr. Jackson reported that Joseph Pastena, who pre- <br />viously requested a permit to keep 500 poultry at <br />4 Hillcrest Street, said that the address should <br />have been 73 Hillcrest Street. <br />No change was made in the Board's decision to deny <br />a permit to keep poultry in this area. <br />Letter was received from Mr. Harold E. Stevens, Town <br />Counsel, in reply to the Board's inquiry with refer- <br />ence to the granting of permits for the raising of <br />poultry in residential areas. <br />It was agreed that a letter should be sent to the <br />Board of Appeals with reference to the hearing <br />scheduled upon the petition of John Mancuso for per- <br />mission to use the property at 87 Cary Avenue for <br />the purpose of keeping several hundred poultry for <br />slaughter and marketing.
