1 <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />November 17, 1949 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Health was held in the <br />Selectmen's -Room, Town Office Building on Thursday afternoon, <br />November 17, 1949 at 3:00P. M. Chairman Cosgrove, Messrs. <br />Russell, McQuillan and Jackson were present. The Clerk was <br />also present. <br />Each member of the Board was presented with a de- <br />tailed report of the activities of the Health Sanitarian <br />for the period October 21, 1949 through November 16, Sanitarians; <br />1949. Report <br />It was the opinion of the Board that some effort <br />should be made to bring the rating of the establishments <br />selling food and also the food stores up to a higher <br />standard. Upon receipt of Mr. Jackson's next report, <br />letters are to bd written to all those whose ratings <br />are less than "good". <br />A lengthy discussion was held relative to fact Garbage <br />that Connors' Brothers garbage trucks, while collecting Trucks <br />gargage and also when parked in Lexington Center, are <br />not covered. Upon motion of Mr. Russell, seeonded by <br />Mr. McQuillan, it was voted to authorize the Chairman <br />to contact Mr. Connors and ask his co-operation. <br />Letter was received from the State Department of <br />Public Health advising the Board that Mr. Jackson's Slaughter <br />nomination as Inspector of Slaughtering for the year Inspector <br />ending March 31, 1950 has been approved. <br />Upon motion of Mr. McQuillan, seconded by Mr. <br />Russell, it was voted to appoint Richard F. Jackson <br />as Inspector of Slaughtering for the unexpired term <br />ending March 31, 1950. <br />Letter was received from the State Department of <br />Public Health requesting an inspection of the premises Home for <br />of the Lexington Home for Aged People, Inc. 2027 Mass- Aged <br />ahcusetts Avenue. Mr. Jackson made an inspection and <br />gave a favorable report. <br />Upon motion of Mr. Russell, seconded by Mr. Mc- <br />Quillan,it was voted to recommend inspection by the <br />Massachusetts Department of Public Health for license. <br />Application was received from John Brucchi for <br />permission to keep the following animals at 63 Paul <br />Revere Road;. -Five horses, five cows, twenty-five <br />goats & sheep, 200 poultry and two swine. <br />Mr. Jackson reported that all the people he has <br />talked to in the neighborhood are very much opposed to <br />the granting of the permit. He stated that there are <br />three new houses under constuction in this area. <br />Brucchi <br />permit <br />denied <br />
