BOARD OF -HEALTH MEETING <br />September 16, 1949 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Health was held <br />in the Selectments Room, Town Office Building on Friday, <br />September 17, 1949 at 3:15 P.M. Chairman Cosgrove, Mr. <br />Russell, Mr. Jackson and the Agent were present. <br />Mr. Jackson submitted a report of his activities <br />for the period from August 19, 1949 to September 15, <br />1949. He explained that he had also analyzed samples <br />of well water for individuals on Valley Rbad, Reed Street <br />and the Cambridge -Concord Highway. <br />Application was received from George E. Woodbury <br />for permission to keep 19 chinchillas at 19 Fuller <br />Road. It was unanimously voted that the application <br />be denied. <br />53 <br />Permits <br />Application was received from Mrs. Elizabeth R. <br />White, 26 Downing Road for the renewal of her license <br />to maintain a boarding home for infants. Upon motion <br />duly made and seconded, it was voted to renew the license. <br />Application was received from Mrs. Coleman, 6 <br />Raymond Street for the renewal of her license to main- <br />tain a Convalceseent home. Upon motion duly made and <br />seconded, it was voted to renew the license. <br />Application was received from John A. MacDonald, <br />342 Bedford Street for renewal of his license to keep <br />3500 poultry. Mr. MacDonald has had a poultry farm <br />for a number of years, prior to the Zoning laws, and <br />no complaints have been registered. Upon motion duly <br />made and seconded, it was voted to renew the license. <br />Notice was received from the University of Mass- Sanitation <br />achusetts relative to a course in Enviromental Sanita- Courses <br />tion. Mr. Jackson explained that he had investigated <br />this and he does not know just hbw much value he would <br />obtain from it. He steted that housing is considered <br />one of the aspects of public health, but he thought it <br />is one of the minor problems in Lexington. The Chair- <br />man agreed. <br />The Board discussed briefly the extent of Mr. <br />Lamontts activities in relation to the Board of Health. <br />It was unanimously voted to discontinue any further <br />payments to Mr. Lamont inasmuch as he is no longer <br />doing any work for the Board. <br />Report of vital statistics:-, for the period August <br />20, 1949 t� September 15, 1949, were received from the <br />Town Clerk. <br />
