86 <br />Shoppers' <br />Haven <br />Harvard <br />Health <br />Forum <br />Communicalbe <br />Diseases <br />Quarantine <br />Change <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />February 18, 1949 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Health <br />was held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Build- <br />ing, on Friday, February 18, 1949. Chairman McQuillan, <br />Mr. Russell and Mr. Lamont were present. The Clerk <br />was also present. <br />Mr. Edward J. Conley, proprietor of -Shoppers' <br />Haven, met with the Board at the Board's request, to <br />discuss the sterilization syttem being used in the <br />store. The Chairman said that -Mr. Lamont had explained <br />to the Board that Mr. Conely had conferred with Mr. <br />Lamont and the problem apparently was going to be work- <br />ed out satisfactorily. Mr. Conley agreed to co-operate <br />and retired at 3:10 P.M. <br />The records of the meeting held on January 21, <br />1949 were deblared approved. <br />Mr. Lamont submitted a report of the restaurant <br />inspections he made during the month of February. <br />The Board discussed the milk analysis and Mr. <br />Lamont retired. <br />Letter was received from the Harvard School of <br />Public Health informing the Board that Forums are held <br />each month. An invitation was extended for the members <br />of the Board to attend as guests on Friday, February <br />25, 1949. <br />Notice was received relative to the First Annual <br />Massachusetts Health Conference to be conducted at the <br />Hotel Statler, February 19 and 20. <br />Letter was received from the State Department of <br />Public Health to which was attached the following: <br />1. Revised list of reportable diseases <br />2. Pamphlet containing regulations regarding <br />communicable diseases <br />3. Sheet showing the isolation and quarantine <br />requirements reprinted from the above pamphlet. <br />The Board agreed to amend Chapter 1, Section 2 of the <br />Regulations of the Board of Health of Lexington to <br />include the List of Reportable Diseases declared by the <br />Department of Public Health of Massachusetts to be <br />dangerous to the Public Health and Reportable under the <br />authority of Section 6 of Chapter 111 of the General <br />Laws appearing in the Tercentenary Edition, thereof, <br />as amended by Chapter 129 of the Acts of 1948. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
