34 <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEETINGS <br />January 21, 1949 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Health was <br />held in the Selectments Room, Town Office Building <br />on Friday, January 21, 1949 at 3:00 P.M. Chair- <br />man McQuillan, Messrs. Russell, Terhune and Lamont <br />were present. The Clerk was also present. <br />The records of the meeting held on December 17, 1948 <br />were declared approved. Mr. Lamont submitted his <br />report for the month of January which was read by the <br />Chairman and placed on file. <br />Mr. Lamont retired at 3:25 p.m. <br />The Chairman read a letter from Dr. Robert E. <br />Archibald, of the State Department of Public Health, <br />in reply to the Board's letter requesting certain <br />information relative to death rates, infant mortality, <br />etc. in other towns of comparable size to Lexington. <br />He stated in his letter that Dr. Kelley, District <br />Health Officer, would contact the Board in order to <br />determine exactly for how many years this' data is to <br />be compiled. <br />Mr. Lamont reported that the water used for wash- <br />ing dishes at ShopRerst haven on Marrett Road is <br />only heated to 150'. He has called the proprietor's <br />attention to the fact that his method of sterilization <br />is not up to standards required by the Board of Health, <br />but has received no co-operation. The Clerk was in- <br />structed to request Mr. Edward J. Conley to meet with <br />the Board on Friday, February 13, 1949. <br />Letter was received from the State Department of <br />Public Health relative to a well on North Street. Mr. <br />Terhune took the communication and agreed to investigate <br />it for the Board. <br />Upon motion of Mr. Terhune, seconded by Mr. Russell, <br />it was voted to grant the following licenses to slaughter <br />poultry: <br />James V. Cosgrove 30 <br />Idlewilde Farm (Napoli)22 <br />Gail W. Smith 83 <br />Pine Hill Turkey Farm2938 <br />Grove Street <br />Middle Street <br />Maple Street <br />Mass. Avenue <br />
