Dr. Daniel <br />Rubenstein - <br />resignation <br />Dr. Blakely - <br />Animal <br />Inspector <br />Retirement <br />Middlesex <br />Health Assn <br />re: Free <br />X -Ray Plan <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />October 16, 1947 <br />A=regular meeting of the Board of Health was <br />held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building <br />on Thursday afternoon, -October 16, 1947 at 4:00 p.m. <br />Chairman McQuillan, Mr. Russell and Mr. Lamont, the <br />Health Inspector were present. The Agent was also <br />present. <br />Letter was received from the State Department of <br />Public Health notifying the Board that Dr. A. Daniel <br />Rubenstein has left his position as District Health <br />Officer in the North Metropolitan District to become <br />Director of Hospital Survey in the Department. His <br />successor in the district office will be Dr. George <br />F. Campana. <br />A communication was received from the State <br />Department of Public Health relative to the re- <br />patriation of the World War II dead. No action <br />was necessary by the Board. <br />The Agent informed the Board that it is necessary <br />to appoint an Inspector of Animals inasmuch as Dr. <br />Blakely has reached the age of retirement. Dr. Blakely <br />suggested Dr. O'Connor of Woburn or Dr. Russell of <br />Concord. <br />The agent was instructed to write to Dr. O'Connor <br />and inquire as to whether or not he would be interested <br />in accepting the appointment as Inspector of Animals <br />for the Town of Lexington. <br />Reports were received relative to the inspection <br />of restaurants recently made by the Health Inspector <br />and a representative of the State Department of Public <br />Health. <br />Letter was received from the Middlesex Health <br />Association presenting for approval a plan for a free <br />chest x-ray service for the Town of Lexington. The <br />survey will be available to all residents of the Town <br />over fourteen years of age. All reports are con- <br />fidential and a negative report will be mailed to <br />each person. In cases of special findings the <br />1 <br />
