HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-06-12BOARD OF APPEALS ' June 12, 1980 7:30 p.m. The Board of Appeals held a regular meeting in the Selectmen's Meeting Room. Present: Ruth Morey, Chairman Woodruff M. Brodhead Irving H. Mabee Natalie H. Riffin Eric T. Clarke, Associate Public hearings were held on the following eight petitions. 7 Leeland Terrace, Harold G. Basser - special permit to construct a pool. 7 Chadbourne Rd., Earl E. Thompson - special permit to construct a pool. 21 Moreland Ave., Joseph and Adeline Fournier - appeal from the denial of the Building Commissioner of the issuance of a building permit, notice of Appeal having been made by Attorney Donald L. Connors, Tyler and Reynolds, Boston. Earlier scheduled hearing for April 10, 1980 was postponed (by request) and the extension of time (also requested) was granted by the Board of Appeals. 21 Moreland Ave., Adeline and Joseph Fournier - variance from zoning bylaw side 'yard requirements (dimensional controls) for the location of a garage on the property at 21 Moreland Avenue. (please reference appeal notice.) 258 Marrett Rd., Robert F. Butts and Lynne M. Butts - with reference to the revocation of a building permit issued for Lot 4 (property of Butts) 258 Marrett Rd. (an appeal from the decision of the Building Commissioner) 258 Marrett Rd., Robert F. Butts and Lynne M. Butts - a variance from Section 27 to allow, in conformity with Section 26, the construction of a single-family dwelling at 258 Marrett Road, being shown as Lot 4 on Plot Plan in Lexington, Mass. dated April 23, 1980, Miller & Nylander Co. and on plan entitled "Section 3, Farmhurst, Lexington, dated January 1918 by C. H. Gannett, C.E., recorded at Middlesex So. District Reg. of Deeds as Plan 9 in Plan Book 273. Said lot has frontage of 50.04 feet and an area of 6,931± square feet. 424 Bedford St., Boston Properties - special permits to construct and use a two - building multi -tenant office complex to be located on 21 acres of land, zoned CH - hotel, office, research park, at the northwest quadrant of the intersection of Bedford St. and Route 128. Property is numbered 424 Bedford St. 424 Bedford St., Boston Properties - variances to be granted along with special permits for property as follows: (1) to vary the minimum width of parking aisles from 24 ft. to 20 ft.; (2) to vary the maximum percentage of compact automobile spaces from 15% to 23.5%; (3) to vary the minimum width of compact automobile spaces from 9 ft. to 8.5 ft. An order of conditions has been obtained from the Lexington Conservation Commission with respect to this property. Decisions filed with the Town Clerk. 7 Leeland Terrace - granted unanimously. 7 Chadbourne Rd. - granted unanimously. Board of Appeals decision and actions - June 12, 1980 (continued) -2 258 Marrett Rd. (appeal) - petition withdrawn by Attorney Patricia K. Hagedorn. There were lengthy deliberations with respect to all other requests. No conclusions with respect to decisions were made. The Board voted unanimously to postpone decisions with respect to: 21 Moreland Ave. (appeal); 21 Moreland Ave. (variance) 258 Marrett Rd. (variance); until June 26, 1980 at 8:15 p.m. All persons acting on these decisions would be present on that date.
