HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-07-291 BOARD OF APPEALS July 29, 1976 The Board of Appeals held a regular meeting on Thurs., July 29, 1976, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Selectmen's Meeting Room of the Town Office Building. Present were: Chairman Nickerson, Vice Chairman Wadsworth, Ruth Morey, Woodruff M. Brodhead and Associate Member, Thomas Z. Taylor. Also present were a room full of towns- people, a Lexington Minute -Man Reporter,and a representative of the League of Women Voters. Public hearings were held on the following petitions, notices having been mailed to the proper persons and notices having been advertised as required by statute. Louis J. Cannizzo special permit to construct another greenhouse (size: 24' x 86' x 11110" high) at the rear of 331 Concord Avenue. Russell Square Condominium Trust - special permit to erect two free standing identi- fication signs, one at 1505 Massachusetts Avenue, the main entrance, and the other at 15 Woburn Street, the side entrance. Chadwick's - permission to erect a free standing sign on the property at 903 Waltham Street. This sign will be double faced, 6' by 3', with red letters on a white back- ground and mounted on two 4" by 4" posts. The Petitioner is the Lessee of the property. Adams Pool Corporation - special permit, pursuant to Section 25.24, to increase mem- bership authorization to 75 bondholders in the Adams Pool Corporation, 316 Emerson ' Road. This petition does not seek to alter the authorization for the total number of non -neighborhood bondholders which will remain at 15 or below. Martha J. Lima and James J. Lima, Jr. - variances of the zoning bylaw in order to subdivide a parcel of land known and numbered as 40 Vaille Avenue into two lots: Lot A consisting of approximately 17,568 square feet, having an approximate frontage of 244 feet on Vaille Avenue, containing a two-story, wood frame, single family dwelling with attached one -car garage and swimming pool; and Lot B consisting of approximately 7,072 square feet, having an approximate frontage of 110 feet on Vaille Avenue. The Board made the following decisions, all in open meeting with spectators present. See permits and denials for details. Cannizzo - granted unanimously. Russell Square - granted 4 to 1, Chadwick's - granted unaimously. Adams Pool - granted unanimously. Lima - granted 4 to 1, Thomas G. Mr. Nickerson in opposition. Taylor in opposition.
