HomeMy WebLinkAbout1953-03-2621 BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS March 26, 1953 i The Lexington Board of Appeals held public hearings on March 26, 1953 on the following petitions: Wallace Weisin er - to erect a two -car garage of second class con- struction at 1517 Bedford St. James P. Cassim - to convert the single family dwelling located at 342 Bedford St. into a two-family dwelling, in accordance with plans sub- mitted and in compliance with the Lexinton Building By-law. Walter A. Arnold - to erect a carport attached to the existing dwelling at 72 Ml=e St. Mass. Institute of Technology - to erect a transmitter pole 90 feet high wi anchor guys, located on south corner of Field Station, #238 Wood St., also modification of antenna on same, for a period of three years from date. E. L. Sharkey (Raytheon) - to continue the use and extend for two years, beginning Marcia 20, 53, the premises on Lot ##11, 16 Hazel Rd. as the site of microwave transmitting equipment, including specifically a long range calibration unit which is already installed. John F. MacNeil - to cut in opening in divided partition of store located a - Massachusetts Ave. Westlex Corporation - toremove sand and gravel to a level of the grade of Westview St. at the Boston & Maine Railroad crossing, from that portion of the land of Westlex Corp., shown on the submitted plan, bounded by Mellex Rd., land of Melanson, land of Linehan, the Boston & Maine RR spur to the Bedford Airport, and an abandoned roadway extension of Mellex Rd. Following the hearings the following decisions were reached during an Executive Session: i Wallace Weisinger - granted James P. Cassim - granted Walter A. Arnold - denied Mass. Institute of Technology - granted E. L. Sharkey - granted John F. MacNeil - denied Westlex Corp. - granted subject to the following conditions: 1. that the petitioner will furnish the Town Engineer with a Civil Engineer's statement of the number of cubic yards of sand and gravel remaining on the property at this date and that the petitioner will submit a statement of the number of cubic yards removed from this property until it is levelled to the grade of Westview St. 2. that the petitioner will fur.;sh a binding promise to the Town Engineer that there will henceforth be removed from the property only the additional number of cubic yards shown by the said Civil ' Engineer's statement, plus such other conditions and safeguards that the Westlex Corporation, the Town, and other parties of interest may esteem appropriate. 3. that the petitioner furnish a performance bond with some reliable surety company to insure completion of this work until it is levelled to the grade of Westview St. in a manner satisfactory to the Town Engineer.
