2005 Annual Town Meeting <br /> March 28, 2005 <br /> (See Warrant File for Warrant) <br /> The first session of the 2005 Annual Town Meeting was called to order by Moderator <br /> Margery M. Battin, at 7:30 p.m., Cary Memorial Building. A quorum of 179 members was <br /> present. <br /> The Lexington Minutemen, accompanied by the William Diamond Fife and Drum Corps, <br /> posted the colors. The invocation was offered by Rev. Bill Clark, First Parish Church. <br /> The Moderator honored deceased Town Meeting members Frank Kava, Louise Kava, and <br /> Renee Cochin. <br /> Town Clerk Donna M. Hooper read the Warrant for the Meeting until waived. The Town <br /> Clerk read the Constable's Return of the Warrant. <br /> The Moderator reviewed procedural matters and declared the meeting open under Article 2 <br /> and would be for the duration of the meeting. <br /> ARTICLE 2: REPORTS OF TOWN BOARDS AND COMMITTEES <br /> 7:55 p.m. Presented by Selectman Jeanne Krieger. <br /> MOTION: That the report of the Committee on Cary Lectures be accepted <br /> and placed on file and the Committee discharged. Motion Adopted. <br /> Mrs. Shephard presented the report of the Committee on Cary Lectures. <br /> 7:59 p.m. Presented by Arthur Katz. <br /> MOTION: That the report of the Lexington Housing Partnership Board be <br /> accepted and placed on file. Motion Adopted. <br /> Robert Bicknell, Chairman, presented the report of the Lexington Housing <br /> Partnership Board. <br /> ARTICLE 3: APPOINTMENTS TO CARY LECTURE SERIES <br /> 8:00 p.m. Presented by Selectman Jeanne Krieger. <br /> MOTION: That a committee of three be appointed by the Moderator to <br /> have the charge of the lectures under the wills of Eliza Cary Farnham and <br /> Suzanna E. Cary for the current year. Motion Adopted Unanimously. <br /> ARTICLE 4: ZONING BY-LAW, AMEND CB TO CD,BATTLE GREEN INN, <br /> 1720 MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE <br /> 8:02 p.m. Presented by Charles Lamb, pr.4. <br /> MOTION: That the Code of the Town of Lexington, Zoning By-Law <br /> sections, and the Zoning Map of the Town of Lexington be amended by <br /> changing the zoning district designation of that property commonly known as <br /> The Battle Green Inn, located at 1720 Massachusetts Avenue, and specifically <br /> described in a metes and bounds description on file with the Board of <br /> Selectmen and the Planning Board from the current CB, Central Business <br /> District to a CD-Planned Commercial District to allow construction of a <br /> building(s) for the purposes of multi-family housing and commercial retail <br /> space. The land in the CD, Planned Commercial district shall be subject to <br /> the preliminary site development and use plan originally filed on December <br /> 28, 2004, as amended, including a revised and resubmitted preliminary site <br /> development and use plan dated March 18, 2005, which plan is on file with <br /> the Planning Board and Town Clerk, in accordance with the provision of the <br /> Zoning By-Law of the Town of Lexington. <br /> 8:03 p.m. Eric Shapiro, Battle Green Inn owner, presented the article. <br /> Architect Erik Rhodin explained proposed development. <br /> 8:20 p.m. Thomas Harden, Planning Board moved: <br /> MOTION: That the report of the Planning Board on Article 4 be accepted and <br /> placed on file. Motion Adopted Unanimously. <br /> Mr. Harden presented the report. <br /> 8:31 p.m. Anthony Galaitsis presented minority report of the Planning Board and <br /> moved: <br /> MOTION: That the Minority Report of the Planning Board on Article 4 <br /> be accepted and placed on file. Motion Adopted Unanimously. <br />
