HomeMy WebLinkAbout2024-03-20-BOH-min (Tri Ton Coalition Advisory Board)Tri-Ton Coalition Advisory Board Burlington.Lexington.Wilmington Tri-Ton Coalition Advisory Board Meeting Meeting Minutes March 20, 2024 2:00 to 3:00 pm Via Webex Attendees: Susan Lumenello, Director Burlington Board of Health, Joanne Belanger, Director Lexington Board of Health, Shelly Newhouse, Director Wilmington Board of Health, and Katie Capobianco, Shared Services Coordinator I. Approval of Minutes • Joanne made a motion, seconded by Shelly, to approve the February 21, 2024 meeting minutes- motion approved. II. Update on Community Outreach Position • Three potential candidates were selected for interviews. The first person scheduled for March 19th did not show up for the interview. • There are two additional interviews scheduled for March 26th. Shelly advised that she would attend the interviews with Susan. III. DPH Performance Standards Self-Assessment Tool • Susan advised that currently there is a spreadsheet on the DPH website to conduct a self- assessment for your town. There will be the ability to see the individual town results and to merge the Shared Services towns to assess how we are doing as a whole. The overview may provide a clearer picture of deficits from last year’s review. • This year is a self-assessment however, there will be an official assessment conducted in 2025. IV. Programs and Public Health Initiatives • Rashod is certified to teach CPR/AED trainings and is currently waiting on the mannequin order from American Red Cross. • Shelly has reached out to Rashod to hold a Stop the Bleed training at Wilmington Town Hall on Thursday April 18th from 11:00 to 1:00 for the DPW staff and public building custodians. Joanne advised that Rashod will be in Lexington on that day from 11:00 to 1:00. Shelly said she will schedule that STB training for 2:00 pm on that day. • Susan said they will need to know how many people are scheduled for the training because MRC volunteer nurses will be needed to assist at any trainings with over 10 participants. Tri-Ton Coalition Advisory Board Burlington.Lexington.Wilmington • Burlington has STB kits to give to each participant. • Joanne advised that Lexington is doing a STB training, CPR or narcan training the week of April 4th. She will have Kellianne reach out to Rashod to check his availability to help out. • Susan advised that Rashod will be holding a sun safety and ticks training with the Girl Scouts. He will also be involved with the Burlington vaccination clinic in May. • Shelly will have Tahycha do some of the beach inspections in Wilmington. She will take her with her on June 3rd and June 10th. • Shelly said Katy did an excellent report for the Substance Abuse Coalition summarizing the 120 responses received as part of the parent survey. • Joanne said that the Lexington Board of Health would like to conduct an overall health assessment in the town similar to what Wilmington did. Joanne thought that North Andover Shared Services had conducted a community health assessment using PHE funds. Katie advised that the PHE does not allow for the spending of funds on community health assessments however she will follow up with North Andover to see if they were allowed to use PHE funds. • Joanne is still waiting on the invoices for the podium rental and AV equipment rental for the showing of Below the Belt for public health week. Susan commented that Burlington could potentially do a second screening of the film. • Katy sent out the first Tri-Ton newsletter. All three towns’ Board of Health members received a copy of it. • Mental Health First Aid will take place in Burlington on April 23rd. Please sign up if you are interested by sending an email to Katie. V. Tobacco Funding • Joanne advised that Tahycha was introduced at the Lexington Board of Health meeting. During the meeting, the chair of the board questioned some of the data that was presented regarding the Tobacco grant on the methodology that Katy used. Joanne will email Katy when she is back in the office on 4/2/24 to see if Katy can provide a more in- depth description of her methodology for Wendy, the Chair of the Board, to look at. • Tahycha needs to finish Lexington and Wilmington retail inspections by the end of June. • Shelly will send Tahycha the Wilmington regulations including establishments, permits, and regulations. • Joanne will give Tahycha both the state and local regulations for inspections. VI. New Business • The April meeting will be changed from April 17th to April 22nd. Meeting adjourned at 3:00 PM.
